      • The messiah will rule wisely
      • The messiah will ensure Judah is safe
      • The messiah will be called the lord is our salvation
      • The messiah will come from the house David
      • He will be called the king
      • He will ensure Israel is secure
      • He will execute justice
    2. Describe the bath of John the Baptist.(8mks)
      • Elizabeth delivered a baby boy
      • People rejoiced about the birth
      • The baby was circumcised on the 8th day
      • The baby was to be named Zachariah
      • His mother objected and said the baby was to be named John
      • People objected to this name because none of their kins had this name.
      • They made signs to Zachariah inquiring the name Zachariah down the name john people
      • Zacharias mouth was opened and begun to talk.
      • People feared about this incident
      • People talked over this incident over Judea.
      • People who heard said what kind of child he would be.
      • Zachariah was filled with the Holy Spirit and prophesied.

      • He got into Simon’s boat and told him to fish into the sea.
      • He sat down and taught people from the boat
      • After this he told Simon to cast his net for a catch.
      • Simon said they had toiled the night but caught nothing / he accepted Jesus instructions.
      • They caught a great number of fish.
      • Their nets were bursting and they called their partners to assist him.
      • They filled both boats with fish and they began sinking.
      • Peter knelt down before Jesus and told him to go because peter was sinful.
      • James and john were also astonished to this miracle.
      • Jesus told Simon not to be afraid because henceforth he would be catching men.

    2. Describe Jesus triumphant entry into Jerusalem in Luke 19:28-40
      • As Jesus entered Jerusalem, he passes through Bethpage and Bethany and the mount olives.
      • He sent two of his disciples to bring him colt which had never been ridden.
      • He gave him instructions to go and untie it/if asked they should say master needs it.
      • They found it as Jesus had instructed.
      • As they were untying it the owner asked them why and they replied that the master need it
      • The disciples brought the donkey and Jesus sat on it.
      • As he rode on, people spread their cloaks on the roads
      • The people sang and proclaimed him asking him as king having seen his mighty works.
      • The people shouted blessed is the one who comes in the name of the lord, peace in heaven and glory to God.
      • Some Pharisees ordered Jesus to tell the people to be quiet, they were afraid that the roman government would think that there is a revolt.
      • Jesus replied that if they kept quiet, the stones would shout
    3. State five ways through which modern church leaders perform the duties of a disciple.(5mks)
      • Visiting the sick, aged and orphans.
      • Helping the needy.
      • Preaching the gospel.
      • Performing miracles in the name of Jesus.
      • Be role models by following gods command.
      • Pray for those with problems.
      • Condemning evils in the society.

      • Believers have been united through one spirit, one Lord, one baptism and one God.

      • They are denied leadership positions.
      • Are denied some services of the church as wedding rites, burial rites.
      • Are charged a fine.
      • They are reprimanded and asked to apologize publicly.
      • Workers who cause disunity can lose their jobs.
      • Leaders who cause disunity are asked to resign/demoted.
      • Some churches excommunicate members who blaspheme.
      • Sometimes they may be suspended from church duties and church services.
      • Church leaders are transferred to hardship areas.

      • Human experience/conscience/knowledge/free will.
      • The bible/Jesus teaching/sacred scriptures.
      • Traditions from Christian community/church rituals.

      • African customs compatible with Christianity.
    2. Outline changes that have taken place in marriage in traditional African society.(7mks)
      • It is not obligatory today for all to marry.
      • Permissiveness in today’s society has brought about sexual immorality eroding the value of purity in marriage and before marriage.
      • Unlike in traditional African society, virginity has lost value in today’s marriage.
      • Monogamous relationships today have largely replaced polygamous relationship.
      • The long and careful courtship and marriage preparations in traditional African society have been largely compromised.
      • Divorce nowadays is on the raise unlike in the past.
      • The wife no longer belongs to the whole clan today.
      • Marriage with or without children is complete/consummated by marriage.
      • Bride price has been commercialized today or at times not even paid by the man involved.
      • Marriage age today is not defined and one may marry at late age
      • The marriage relationship is exclusive concern of the couple, and the clan’s role is minimal or negligible.
    3. How is the church preparing the youth for marriage.(8mks)
      • Encouraging them to attend seminars or counseling sessions on marriage/premarital counseling.
      • Pray to God’s guidance when getting a partner.
      • Encouraging them to go for a medical test.
      • Encouraging them to make arrangements on dowry payment.
      • Teaching them to ensure there is availability of resources/offering financial assistance for wedding preparations condemning pre-marital sex.
      • Emphasizing on church wedding /discouraging elopement.
      • Church leader’s setting an example for other to emulate.
      • Organizing retreats/seminars to educate them.
      • Teaching them about responsible parenthood/role as husband and wife.

      • Those who have wealth are only stewards.
      • Those who have wealth should share it with others/help the needy/poor.
      • Poverty is not a result of sin/the poor can also enjoy Gods blessings.
      • Wealth can be a hindrance for one to enter the kingdom of God.
      • One can’t serve God and wealth.
      • Wealth can’t satisfy all human need /can’t answer the human quest for salvation.
      • Those who have wealth should avoid extravagance wisely.
      • Those who have wealth should use it responsibly/wisely.
    3. Give seven reasons why Christians should not involve themselves in gambling.
      • Gambling enable one to get money/wealth without working for it.
      • In gambling one’s gain leads to another who loses.
      • It creates bitterness in the one who loses.
      • The bible condemn gambling/unfair interest.
      • It involves taking advantage of ignorant players.
      • There is no security on the wealth/money put in gambling.
      • It is addictive/can become a compulsive habit.
      • It can interfere with family budget/priorities/can be misleading in the firmly/friends.
      • It can lead to stress illness.
      • It can lead to violence/loss of life
      • Sit shows lack of trust /dependence upon God.
      • It can lead to poverty, time wasting at the expense of productive work.
