      1. He was a forerunner of Jesus / he prepared the way for the coming of the messiah/ ushered people into the messianic era.
      2. He introduced Jesus to people.
      3. He baptized people with water in preparation for Jesus.
      4. He was the last and the only prophet in New Testament.
      5. He preached to the people about Jesus. 
      6. He advised people to live holy lives
      7. He warned people of God’s judgment.
      8. His coming was a fulfillment of O.T prophecies.
      9. He bore witness to Jesus as the messiah. 7 x1= 7 mks

    1. Why Jesus referred to Pharisees as hypocrites      (6mks)
      1. They considered themselves self-righteous
      2. They despised others/ looked down upon others.
      3. They exalted themselves /lacked humility.
      4. They knew the commandment but did not apply them appropriately.
      5. They followed Jesus with an intention of finding faults/trapping him.
      6. They followed rules made by human beings/traditions of the elders as opposed to God’s rule.
      7. They emphasized on the outward cleanliness as opposed to purity of the heart.
      8. They altered the Law of Moses to suit their selfish motives

    2. Describe the healing of the paralytic Luke 5; 17 -26    (8mks)
      1. Jesus was teaching and Pharisees /teachers of the law were sitting by.
      2. Men brought a man who was paralyzed to be healed by Jesus. 
      3. They sought to bring him/lay him before Jesus / the place was crowded.
      4. They went up on the roof and let him down through the tiles into the midst before Jesus.
      5. Jesus saw their faith/he told the man your sins are forgiven.
      6. The scribes and Pharisees began to question who is this that speaks Blasphemies?/ Who can forgive sins but God only
      7. Jesus perceived their questioning and answered them which is easier to say your sins are forgiven or to say rise up and walk.
      8. The son of man has authority to forgive sins. He said to the man rise, take up your bed and go home.
      9. Immediately the man rose before them/ took up that on which he lay/walked home glorifying God.
      10. All were seized with amazement/they glorified God.
      11. They were filled with awe saying we have seen strange things today    8x1 = 8mks
    3. Identify ways in which Christians can settle disagreements among themselves    (6mks)
      1. They pray over the issue/problem.
      2. They offer guidance and counseling to the affected.
      3. By paying visits /talking to the offenders /fellowship.
      4. By involving church leaders as arbitrators.
      5. Forgiving the one who has wronged the other/asking for forgiveness.
      6. Willingness by the offenders to accept the mistakes made /accepting liability.
      7. Withdrawing some privileges for a period of time so that one can reform.
      8. By sharing meals /eating together   .
      9. Through shaking of hands/accepting greetings.          6 x1  = 6mks

    1. Outline Jesus’ teaching on the growth of God’s kingdom   (Luke 13:1-35)
      1. Repentance is important lest destruction.
      2. The need to work hard / be productive to be accepted in God’s kingdom.
      3. Jesus came to liberate people from the rule of Satan.
      4. The Kingdom of God starts to grow from a humble beginning.
      5. The Kingdom of God is universal/includes both Jews and non-Jews.
      6. The Kingdom of God grows in a mysterious way/unseen manner.
      7. To enter the kingdom of God one has to make a lot of effort /sacrifice/make the right decision in time/the door will not remain open forever.
      8. Having social contact with Jesus is no guarantee of entering the kingdom of God/it belongs to those who obey Jesus/righteous.
      9. The growth of God’s kingdom happens when demons are cast out/people healed.
      10. Those who reject Jesus have no place in the kingdom of God.
      11. God would separate the righteous and the wicked.      7 x 1 =7mks
    2. Narrate the parable of the lost sheep              (7mks)
      1. The tax collectors and sinners were all drawing near to hear Jesus
      2. The Pharisees and scribes murmured why he was receiving/eating with sinners. 
      3. Jesus responded by telling them the parable of the lost sheep.
      4. He said a shepherd had 100 sheep
      5. He lost one of them.
      6. He left the ninety nine and went to look for the one lost.
      7. When he found it, he laid it on his shoulders /rejoicing.
      8. When he came home/he invited friends/neighbours/rejoice with them.
      9. Jesus exclaimed that there will be mere joy in heaven over one sinner who repents then the 99 righteous persons who need no repentance.     7 x1 =7mks
    3. Give six reasons why Jesus used the parable of the lost sheep in his teaching    (6mks)
      1. To encourage sinners to accept the word of God.
      2. To encourage people to realize their sinfulness / be willing to repent/reconcile.
      3. To teach about God’s love for all people/ Kingdom of God is for all people.
      4. To show God’s unconditional forgiveness.
      5. To teach his audience the need to search for sinners.
      6. To teach his audience not to discriminate / despise sinners/ backsliders.
      7. To teach the audience the need to rejoice/welcome repentant sinners.     6 x 1 = 6mks.

    1. Outline six regulations for the use of spiritual gifts according to St. Paul (1 Cor14: 24 -37) (6mks)
      1. Spiritual gifts must be organized in an orderly manner.
      2. In any one meeting no more than two/ at the most three people may speak in tongues.
      3. Those speaking in tongues should not speak at the same time/one after the other.
      4. One who has the gift of interpretation should explain the message to the congregation.
      5. If there is an interpreter available the person with the gift of tongues should refrain from speaking to the assembly.
      6. Only three prophets should speak at the assembly using the gift of prophecy.
      7. Members should listen/ assess what the prophets are saying.
    2. Explain the teaching of Peter concerning the people of God   (1 Peter 2: 9-10) (8mks)
      1. The believers are a chosen people/race/ they have been selected.
      2. The believers are a royal priesthood/ they are to serve the greatest King/God.
      3. The believers are a Holy nation/expected to lead holy/righteous lives.
      4. They belong to God/ they form a family of God / God’s own possession.
      5. They are to declare the wonderful deeds of God/that is to lead a life of worshipping God/ testifying about God.
      6. They were called from darkness to light/ their lives had been transformed and should not be dominated by evil.
      7. They were once not a people / they were outside the covenant way of life.
      8. They are led by the mercies of God/ have received God’s grace.       8 x 1 = 8mks.
    3. Identify six characteristics of the new people of God as found in the New Testament?           (6mks)
      1. They are God’s own people chosen by him to worship him.
      2. They are baptized /born again.
      3. They proclaim the wonderful deeds of Christ.
      4. They share in the resurrections of Christ.
      5. They are determined to inherit the kingdom of God/ eternal life.
      6. They abandon the peace/prosperity of his world/earthly materials
      7. They are set aside by their moral uprightness/exemplary lives.
      8. Their joy is found in suffering.
      9. They possess fruits of the Holy spirit/guided by the Holy Spirit.
      10. They are under the umbrella of Jesus Christ.      6 x 1=6mks

      1. In both leisure is ordained by God.

      5. In both it is a time to hold festivals.

    2. Give reasons why Christians condemn the taking of alcohol as a way      of spending leisure time?    (7mks)
      1. It leads to conflicts/quarrels within the family
      2. It leads to the misuse of family resources/wealth/poverty.
      3. It may leads to alcoholism /addiction/ill health.
      4. It leads to irresponsible  sexual  behaviour /prostitution/adultery fornication 
      5. It can lead to loss of job/loss of income/means of livelihood.

      4. Christians should engage in leisure activities that provide service to others.
      5. Christians should engage in leisure activities that enrich one’s knowledge of God.
      6. A  Christian should avoid leisure activities that are harmful to self /put one’s life at risk.
      7. A Christian should engage in leisure activities that build the body /mind /soul/ and making a person alert/fit.

      3. Volunteer to work in projects aimed at protecting the environment/giving guidelines on environmental management.
      4. By establishing flowerbeds, tree nurseries for people to get seedlings.
      5. Taking good care of their homes/ land.
      6. A voiding activities that result in environment degradation/role models.
      7. Condemning the destruction /exploitation of the environment by greedy /powerful people.
