    1. Identify Eight creations that God made using the divine command ‘’Let there be ‘’ Gen 1 (8marks)
      • God made light
      • Creation of firmament in the midst of waters
      • Water under the heavens gathered into one place.
      • Dry land appeared.
      • The earth brought forth vegetation/plants/trees
      • Heavenly bodies created
      • Waters Brought forth living creatures/Sea creatures
      • Creation of birds
      • Creation of human beings in the image and likeness of God (8 x 1 = 8marks)
    2. Explain the Biblical teaching on the origin of Sin in the world (7 marks)
      • Sin came into the world as a result of disobedience of human beings to God.
      • Originated from temptations by Satan.
      • Originated as a rebellion of human beings against God
      • Came from greed/desire for material things.
      • Sin originated from lack of satisfaction to God’s providence.
      • Sin was because of human weakness.
      • Due to lack of self – control or lust.
      • Sin originated from greed for power/desire to be like God (7 x 1 = 7 marks)
    3. Give five reasons why Christians should forgive others
      • Because it is a command from God
      • Christians should emulate Jesus Christ who forgave even those who crucified Him.
      • Should forgive in order to be at peace with God and with one another.
      • To be forgiven by God, they should forgive others.
      • Forgiving others brings Love and harmony among people.
      • To set a good example to others.
      • Forgive others to experience healing.
      • To escape God’s punishment.
      • Forgiving others is a sign of humility ( 5 x 1= 5 marks)

      • Abraham established a personal relationship with God
      • It was the beginning of God’s salvation to mankind.
      • By passing through the carcasses God took the responsibility of fulfilling its promise
      • The covenant was more binding than the one made between human beings.
      • The covenant formed a unique foundation for the relationship between God and Israelites.
      • By having faith in God’s promises, Abraham and his descendants were rewarded greatly by God.
      • Showed commitment
    2. How did God show His mercy to the Israelites during the Exodus? (7 marks)
      • By enabling them cross the Red Sea.
      • By guiding them during the day by a pillar of cloud and at night by a pillar of fire
      • Providing them with food like Manna and quils.
      • By protecting them against their enemies like the Amalekites and Egyptians
      • By giving them ten commandments to guide them
      • By making a covenant with them.
      • By giving them leaders
      • By healing those who were bitten by snakes (7 x 1 =7 marks)
    3. How do people break the commandment ‘’DO not Kill ‘’ in the society today? ( 6 marks)
      • People use witchcraft to Kill others
      • During the time of war / terror /genocide many are killed
      • Through murder
      • Women die when aborting
      • People commit suicide
      • Intention infection of HIV/AIDS
      • People die when they abuse drugs

    1. Outline seven promises of God to David through prophet Nathan (7marks)
      • David’s name would be great / famous
      • God would protect Israel from oppression and make her live in peace
      • God would save David from his enemies.
      • God would always raise up an heir from David’s Lineage to sit on the throne
      • God would burry David with his ancestors.
      • God would establish an everlasting Kingdom for David.
      • David and his descendants would be blessed forever.
      • The messiah would come from David lineage
      • God would punish David’s Son when they did wrong the way a father punishers a Son.
      • God would always support David’s heirs
      • David’s Son would build a temple for God.
      • God would give Israel their own Land to settle.
      • David’s descendants would rule forever (7 x1 = 7 marks)
    2. Explain the factors that led to the contest between prophet Elijah and the prophets of Baal at Mt. Carmel (7marks)
      • King Ahab had married a Phoenician princes Jezebel who imported to Israel the worship of foreign god’s
      • Jezebel imported 450 prophets of Baal who promoted Baal worship in Israel.
      • Ahab built a temple for the worship of baal in Samaria and participated in the worship of pagan gods.
      • Yahweh altar had been destroyed.
      • Yahweh was worshipped alongside other gods.
      • Prophets of Yahweh were persecuted and many had been killed in Israel on the order of queen Jezebel.
      • There was a prolonged drought in Israel which threatened the nation
      • Elijah was sent by God to prove that he was speaking the truth about the living God.
      • Elijah had deep religious experience and deep conviction about the true nature of Yahweh.
      • The whole nation of Israel had been led astray into false worship at the King’s command.
      • The contest was prove to the Israelites and the King himself who between Yahweh and Baal was the true God.

    3. Give reasons why a leader may be rejected in society today.
      • When he fails to address the problems of his subjects
      • When he/she practices discrimination e.g tribalism, nepotism e.t.c.
      • Lack of education and proper training of the leader.
      • Due to misappropriation of public funds.
      • If the leader is associated with people of questionable behavior
      • If he fails to promote peace and harmony in the society
      • If the leader is immoral
      • Due to autocratic / dictatorial ruling. ( 6 x 1 = 6 marks)

    1. Outline the importance of prophets in the nation of Israel (7 marks)
      • They interpreted visions and dreams
      • They anointed Kings
      • They offered sacrifices to God
      • They condemned Evils in the society
      • They made people understand about the nature of God
      • They acted as mediators between God and the people.
      • They spoke on behalf of God / Gods messengers/ mouth piece
      • They foretold future events
      • They guided and counseled Kings

    2. Explain seven teachings of prophet Amos about the day of the Lord
      • It will be a day of terror and disaster
      • People will mourn / no happiness
      • The land shall tremble / there will be earthquakes
      • God will punish the Israelites for their disobedience / he will remember their Evil deeds.
      • The feasts and festivals will not be joyful.
      • People will thirst / hunger for the word of God.
      • People will faint in the process of searching for the word of God.
      • There will be darkness at noon / eclipse.
      • It will be a day of disappointments to the Israelites
      • The wicked will not escape God’s judgement ( 7 x1 = 7 marks)
    3. Explain how the church punishes errant members
      • They may be publicly condemned / asked to repent / apologize
      • They may be denied leadership positions/ demoted / withdrawal of privileges.
      • It denies them participation in the church activities / rituals e.g Eucharist.
      • They may be excommunicated from the church.
      • The church may suspend them.
      • Some may be transferred to difficult areas
      • They may be warned. (6 x1 =6 m arks)

    1. Explain the symbolisms used during the call of prophet Jeremiah
      • God touched Jeremiahs mouth. This was to symbolize that God was the source of the message Jeremiah was to deliver.
      • A branch of an almond tree that was base God was watching to see the fulfillment of the message he gave to Jeremiah.
      • A pot of boiling facing away from the North and about to tilt towards Judah. God would use a nation from the North to bring Judgement on the people of Judah.
      • A fortified city, A bronze wall and an iron pillar. God was going to protect him even though he was going to meet opposition.
      • To uproot and pull down, to destroy and overthrow. God would pass judgement on the nation of Judah.
      • To build and to plant. The was still hope of the restoration of people of Judah after exile
        ( 6 x 1 = 6 marks)
    2. Outline the message of prophet Jeremiah in his letter to the exiles ( Jer 29: 1 -14)
      • To build houses and live in them
      • To plant gardens and eat their produce
      • To marry and have children
      • To live in peace and promote the welfare of cities where they are living
      • To pray for their masters
      • Not to listen to the words of false prophets and diviners.
      • God would restore them to their land after seventy years were over.
