      1. The Messiah would be a descendant/branch/offspring of David.
      2. The Messiah would be righteous
      3. The Messiah would reign over the people, i.e. would be a king.

      5. In His days, Judah will be saved and Israel would live safely
      6. He would be called the Lord our righteousness/ salvation
      7. Peace would prevail because of His justice and salvation.

      1. In Capernaum, there was a centurion who had a sick slave at the point of death
      2. He knew that Jesus had the power to heal
      3. He sent Jewish elders to ask Him to come and heal his slave.
      4. The elders went and requested Jesus to go and heal the centurion’s servant
      5. The intercession of the Jewish leaders made Jesus turn towards the centurion’s house
      6. When the centurion heard that Jesus was coming to him, he sent his friends to stop Him
      7. The centurion showed great faith in Jesus ability by saying “say a word for the servant to be well”
      8. Jesus marveled at his faith. Jesus turned to the multitude and said He had not found such faith
      9. Even in Israel, when those who had been sent returned home, they found the slave well.

    3. What lessons can Christians learn from the healing of the Centurion’s servant       (6mks)
      1. Christians learn to have faith in God
      2. Christians should now that Jesus has power to heal all forms of diseases
      3. Jesus has compassion for those who are suffering
      4. Jesus’ mission was for all who believed Him, regardless of race, tribe, gender or creed.
      5. Christians have hope of resurrection in Jesus Christ
      6. Those who are humbled will be exalted
      7. Christians should believe in Jesus power and Lordship
      8. Employers should treat their workers with compassion
      9. Ceremonial laws cannot prevent Christians from receiving Jesus compassion

      1. They were not to carry money, food or clothing

      1. He used parable of unfruitful fig tree i.e. he came to give sinners time to separate so as to get the kingdom of God.
      2. In the parable of the mustard seed Jesus showed that the kingdom of God starts from a humble beginning.
      3. In the parable of the yeast he showed the kingdom grows secretly in the heart of people.
      4. In the parable of the pearl, he showed kingdom of God is precious.
      5. In the parable of the sower, he taught kingdom of God belongs to those who hear the word and do according to it.
