- The Messiah would be righteous
- The Messiah would reign over the people, i.e. would be a king.

- In Capernaum, there was a centurion who had a sick slave at the point of death
- He knew that Jesus had the power to heal
- He sent Jewish elders to ask Him to come and heal his slave.
- The elders went and requested Jesus to go and heal the centurion’s servant
- The intercession of the Jewish leaders made Jesus turn towards the centurion’s house
- When the centurion heard that Jesus was coming to him, he sent his friends to stop Him
- The centurion showed great faith in Jesus ability by saying “say a word for the servant to be well”
- Jesus marveled at his faith. Jesus turned to the multitude and said He had not found such faith
- Even in Israel, when those who had been sent returned home, they found the slave well.
