2. Read the passage below and fill in each blank space with the most appropriate word. (10 mks)

Infant sorrow
My mother groan'd, my father wept
Into the dangerous world I leapt
Helpless, naked, piping loud,
Like a fiend hid in a cloud.

Struggling in my father's hands,
Striving against any swaddling bands,
Bound and weary, I thought best,
To sulk upon my mother's breast.

(e) Read the dialogue below and then answer the questions that follows:
AMISI: Do you know? I think the new law will transform our society.
PAUL: Amisi you can't argue like that. You sound like somebody from ...
AMISI: I don't want to argue with you, anyway, how can I stoop so low. You are unlikely to comprehend my point.
PAUL: You see, you are rude and unrefined.
AMISI: And you, of course, have such fine manners! What's wrong with what I said?
PAUL: A document or mere legislation cannot transform a society. It's the people who must change their thinking and demonstrate a willingness to make things better.
AMISI: But the new law provides guidelines that will put us on the right path. It is like a compass. If we follow it, we won't get distracted...
PAUL: You have made your point.
AMISI: I give up. Every word you say confirms that I shoudn't be talking to you.
