    1. Outline Jeremiah’s prophecy about the messiah (6mks)
      • The messiah would come from the house of David
      • He would be righteous
      • He would reign as a king
      • He would rule wisely
      • He would execute justice/righteousness in the land
      • He would bring salvation upon Judah
      • He would provide security/safety in Israel
      • He would be called the Lord

    2. Describe the dedication of Jesus in the temple according to Luke 2:22-40 (8mks)
      • Jesus was taken to Jerusalem to be presented to the Lord by his parents
      • There was a man named Simeon in Jerusalem who was righteous /devoted and looking for the consolation of Israel
      • The Holy Spirit had revealed to him that he should not see death before he had seen the Lord’s Christ
      • Simeon took Jesus in his arms and blessed the Lord
      • Simeon said that he was ready to die for he had seen God’s salvation/a light for revelation to the gentiles/the glory of the Israelites
      • Simeon then blessed the parents of Jesus
      • Simeon told Mary the mother of Jesus that the child was set for the fall and rise of many in Israel and a sword will pierce her soul
      • Anna a prophetess gave thanks and spoke of Jesus to all who were looking for the redemption of Jerusalem
      • The parents of Jesus performed everything according to the law of Moses /offered a pair of turtle dove/pigeons
      • The parents of Jesus then returned home

      • To emulate the example of Jesus who was dedicated at an early age
      • For children to receive blessings from God
      • To enable them to grow morally upright
      • It is one way of obeying God’s commandment/Biblical teachings

      • To prepare them for future evangelism/roles
      • The kingdom of God belongs to the children

      • Jesus went to the city of Nain accompanied by his disciples.
      • At the entrance of the city, He met people carrying a dead man.
      • The dead man was the only son of the widow.
      • The mother/widow was accompanied by a large crowd.
      • Jesus felt pity for the widow/told her not to weep.
      • Jesus touched the bier (coffin) in which the body lay.
      • Jesus told the dead man to arise.
      • The dead man sat up/ begun to speak.
      • Jesus gave the man to his mother.
      • The people were filled with fear.
      • The people glorified the lord.
      • Jesus fame spread in Judea/in the surrounding region.

    2. Outline the meaning of the parable of the sower as taught by Jesus (6mks)
      • The seed is the word of God
      • The sower is God
      • The different types of soils are different hearts/people receiving the word of God
      • The seeds that fell along the path are those who heard the word then the devil comes and take the word from their hearts
      • Those that fell on the rocks are those who receive the word of God with joy but these have no roots they believe for a while and in time of temptation fall away
      • Those that fell among thorns are those who hear but as they go their way they are choked by the cares and pleasures of life and their fruits do not mature
      • Those that fell in good soil are those who hear the word ,hold it fast in an honest and good heart and bring forth fruits

    3. State six challenges Christians face while spreading the gospel today (6mks)
      • Christians are rejected/persecuted
      • Some denominations have rivalry among themselves
      • Discrimination based on nepotism, tribalism
      • Hypocrisy among church members
      • Inadequate finance/material for work
      • Language barrier while spreading the word of God
      • Misinterpretation of the Bible
      • Political interferences in their work
      • Poor infrastructure make it difficult to access some places
      • Insecurity/hostility/terrorism
      • Family commitments/work
      • Negative influence from science and technology/mass media

    1. Narrate the parable of the tenants (Luke 20:9-19) (7mks)
      • A Man planted a vineyard and let it out to the tenants
      • He went into another country for a long time
      • When the time came for harvest he sent his servants to get his share
      • The tenants beat him up and sent him away empty handed
      • He then sent another servant ,they beat him, wounded him and threw him out, he sent yet a third who they wounded and cast out
      • The owner of the vineyard then sent his own son but he was beaten up and killed
      • Then Jesus posed a question to them what then will the owner of the vineyard do to them?
      • He will come and destroy those tenants and give the vine yard to others
      • God is the owner of the vineyard, the vineyard is Israel, tenants are the Jewish leaders, son killed is Jesus and the servants send are the prophets

    2. Identify the events that took place between the death and burial of Jesus (Luke 23:44-53) (7mks)
      • Darkness covered the whole land from the sixth to ninth hour.
      • The curtain of the temple was torn into two
      • Jesus cried with a loud voice
      • He committed his spirit to God and breathed his last
      • The centurion who witnessed this praised God and declared that Jesus was innocent
      • The multitude that witnessed these happenings returned home beating their breasts and all his acquaintances and the women from Galilee stood at a distance and saw these things.
      • Joseph of Arimathea asked the permission from Pilate to burry Jesus’ body
      • He was granted permission ,he lowered the body of Jesus and wrapped it in linen shroud
      • He then laid Jesus’ body in a rock hewn tomb where no one had ever yet been laid

      • Some Christians who possess some gifts of the holy spirit develop pride
      • Some use the gifts of the holy spirit to bring divisions in church
