- The messiah would rule the world from Jerusalem and receive homage from all the nations of the earth.

- The arrival of the messiah would be preceded by cosmic signs
- The messiah would be a descendant of David
- The messiah would come after the return of Elijah
- He would not be associated with the poor, sinners and the gentiles
