      • Collect all the equipments and materials required.
      • Dust with a clean dry cloth.
      • Wipe with a cloth wrung from warm water twice overlapping parts.
      • Change cleaning water and repeat.
      • Rinse with a cloth wrung from warm water overlapping part twice.
      • Finally rinse with a cloth wrung from cold water.
    2. Outline the procedure for laundering a loose coloured cotton t-shirt. (7 ½ mks)
      • Collect all the materials and equipments needed.
      • Shake the t-shirt to remove loose dirt.
      • Wash in warm soapy water using kneading and squeezing method.
      • Rinse in warm water twice to remove traces of dirt colour.
      • Finally rinse in cold water having salt to fix the colour.
      • Iron with warm iron while slihglty clamp on the wrong side while overlapping all parts until it is done.

      • During heavy rains they get flooded and can be dangerous.
      • The ones which are not cemented can cause soil erosion because the edges continue to wear out.
      • People can fall into them and get hurt.
      • They can be unsightly and smelly if they are not cleared constantly.
      • They can be breading place for pests.
    3. Suggest eight measures to take in the prevention and control of typhoid. (8mks)
      • Proper disposal of faeces and urine.
      • Domestic water should be boiled or chlorinated before drinking to kill any bacteria present.
      • Proper hygiene practices such as washing hands before handling food and after visiting the toilet.
      • Food preparation and services utensils should be washed thoroughly before use.
      • Fruits and vegetables should be washed thoroughly in cool water before being served.

        • This opens vertically. Half of the window opens towards the inside and the other half towards outside, it may be modified to open outside only.

    3. Explain four factors that may affect normal foetal development. (8mks)
      • Sexually transmitted Infections (STDs)e.g. gonorrhea and syphilis.
        • Gonorrhea can be passed from mother to body during childbirth and handling with contaminated hands especially the eyes and they are not treated, it might lead to blindness.
      • Alcohol and smoking may cause the baby to be underweight during birth.
      • HIV/Aids may cause baby to suffer from full blow Aids and die before the fifth birthday.
      • Drugs have the same effects as alcohol and smoking even prescribed medicines can lead to miscarriage.
      • Trauma, any unpleasant experience that causes distress or anxiety. It causes miscarriage.
      • German measles may deform the foetus occurs during first three months of pregnancy.
      • Nutrient deficiency may cause the baby to be mentally and physically retarded.

    4. Describe the process of setting in a plain sleeve. (11mks)
      • Complete side seam and should press both seam flat.
      • Attach sleeve left to left hand side arm hole and right to right hand one work from W.S of garment and R.S of sleeve out.
      • Sup sleeve into arm hole matching side seam and underarm seam crown of sleeve and shoulder seam raw edges of sleeve and armhole and notches.
      • Pin sleeve to garment from under seam up to where gathering begins on both sides front and back.
      • Tie notes on one end of gatherings stitches.
      • Pull stitches together for sleeve to fit in arm hole.
      • Distribute gathers evenly around crown.
      • Pin left the work, pins to be placed across fitting line.
      • Tack along fitting lined round remove pins.
      • Machine from under arm seam
      • Remove tacking and gathering stitches.
      • Iron raw edges evenly to 6mm.
