      2. An heir from David’s lineage would always be raised up to sit on the

      6. God would make David’s name great and bless his descendants forever.

      1. On a Sabbath , Jesus went to the synagogue in Nazareth his own village·
      2. He was given the scroll of prophet Isaiah to read·
      3. He opened the place where it was written the spirit of the lord is upon me because he has anointed me to preach/ good news to the poor
      4. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind to set at liberty those who/ are oppressed /to proclaim the acceptable year of the lord
      5. Jesus told them that the scriptures had been fulfilled in their hearing·
      6. The people became hostile to Jesus after learning that He was claiming to be the Messiah·
      7. Jesus responded by telling them that a prophet is never accepted by his own people·
      8. He even told them that their forefathers also persecuted the prophets·
      9. The crowd tried to throw Him down a cliff but walked away from them.

      6. It is blessed to invite the poor/maimed/lame /blind to the feast instead if one’s relatives/friends who can invite you in return
      7. Those who do good for the less fortunate will be repaid during the resurrection of the just.

    2. Preparations Jesus before his triumphant entry to Jerusalem   Luke          19:28-35
      1. Jesus approached Jerusalem from Bethphage
      2. He sent two disciples ahead of him
      3. He instructed them that they will find a colt
      4. They were to take the colt
      5. If the owner asked where they were taking
      6. To tell him the master is in need of it
      7. They went and found as Jesus had told them
      8. They brought it to Jesus
      9. They put their garment and Jesus rode out it

      1. To prove to them the power of God.
      2. Make them realize / understand the fulfillment of O.T. prophecies

      4. The Bride and the Groom are one in marriage just as Christ is united spiritually with the church.
      5. The church is loved by Christ just the bride is loved by bridegroom.
      6. John had a vision of the holy city (Jerusalem) church dressed like a bride ready for marriage.
      7. They should be pure /holy to inherit the kingdom of God.
      8. Paul urges the church to remain pure and holy through love and faith.
      9. The church should be like the bride who is faithful to her husband.
      10. Just like the bride is taken to her new home, the church will be taken to a new home which is heaven.

      1. By church leaders starting many projects in the church, expecting the congregation to provide the finance.
      2. Some Christian fail to work because they expect assistance from others.
      3. Some Christian over-depends on other problem’s assistance/effort,
      4. Some members of the church failing to return/refund borrowed money and expect the members of the church to understand
      5. When church leaders demand for payment for all services they render.
      6. When church leaders ask their congregations to cater for their personal needs like further studies/buying of vehicles/etc

      6. Being assertive/exercising life skills so as to dwell on positive behaviours.

      1. Medical science and research helps to restore health and life, therefore curing diseases that take up people’s wealth leading to poverty.
      2. Improvement of security through science and technology helps to deal with insecurity which causes poverty.
      3. Science and technological advancement through electricity and industries has helped to create jobs for the unemployed.
      4. Scientific discoveries like in mining help to exploit natural resources to create wealth.
      5. Scientific research in agriculture has improved crop and animal production thereby raising people’s wealth.
      6. Science and technology has facilitated advancement in education as a source of factual information, and education is key to poverty reduction.
      7. Science and technology has also improved communication worldwide, making it easier to get valuable information on ways to reduce poverty from other parts of the world/ has made it easier to learn from others.
      8. Business has also been enhanced through the internet, creating more jobs and markets for products and services, thus creating more wealth
