    1. Outline the message of Isaiah prophecy about the Messiah, which Jesus read in the synagogue of Nazareth (6mks)
      -The Messiah was a to preach the Good News to the poor
      -The Messiah was the anointed one of God
      -He was to set the captives free
      -He was to proclaim the year of the Lord
      -He would open the eyes of the blind
      -He was filled with the Holy Spirit
    2. Zechariah’s vision in the temple   (8mks)
      -It was Zechariah’s turn to burn incense in the temple and a large crowd waited outside, an angel of the Lord appeared to Zachariah and stood at the right side of the altar. Zachariah was afraid but the Angel told him not to be afraid because God had heard his prayers: his wife Elizabeth will give birth to a son and call him John. The angel outlined the role and qualities of the son to be born. Zechariah expressed doubt and insisted to be given a sign because he and his wife were old, the angel told him he will be dumb until the child is born. When he got out of the temple , he could not speak and made signs to the people , the people concluded that he had seen a vision

      -As Jesus was on His way to Jairus’ house, a large crowd followed and pressed against Him.
      -In the crowd, there was a woman who suffered from an incurable disease.
      -She had bled for twelve years and none of the doctors had been able to cure her.
      -She believed that just by touching the cloak of Jesus, she would be healed
      -She touched the fringe of Jesus’ garment and the flow ceased immediately.
      -Jesus wanted to know who had touched Him because He felt the power leave Him.
      -The woman came forward trembling and fell before Jesus and testified how she has received the healing.
      -Jesus told her, “Daughter your faith has made you well, go in peace”.

    1. The parable of the rich fool
      • There was a rich man whose land produced a large harvest, however, he did not have enough room to store his large harvest.
      • He believed that after doing so, his life would become easy. He would drink, eat and make merry without any worry.
      • On that night, God told him that He would take his life.
      • On that very night, his life was taken and he had to leave behind all the wealth he had accumulated.
    2. Teachings of Jesus on material possessions as drawn from the parable of the rich fool
      • People should not trust in material wealth but in God who controls their lives
      • People should not worry about material needs but trust in God’s providence
      • People should be concerned with seeking God’s kingdom first before their personal and material needs
      • Concentration on material possession make people forget about God
      • Those who seek God’s kingdom will be rewarded with heavenly treasures
      • Material possession should be used to glorify God
      • Acquisition of material possession gives a false sense of security and cannot give eternal life

      -Contributing funds for the work of the church

      -He told the people that the disciples were not drunk since it was only the third hour of the day

      -God’s power was seen in the miracle , signs and wonders performed by Jesus

      -A person who is led by the Holy Spirit displays the fruits of the Holy Spirit e.g love, joy, peace and kindness
      -One who is led by the Holy Spirit will not contradict biblical teachings
      -A person by the Holy Spirit is sincere and honest
      -A person who is under the influence of the Holy Spirit will act and behave in accordance with the teachings of Jesus

      -Christian show love and compassion to one another by helping the needy
      -They show their kindness by caring for non-believers and preaching the gospel to them so that they can be saved
      -They help in working for peace where there is conflict
      -They have shown self-control when they have been accused falsely
      -They show gentleness when correcting others
      -Christians show joy when preaching the good news in midst of persecutions
      -They have shown patience when they continuously try to win non-Christians to Christianity
      -They have shown faithfulness when they persevere persecutions for the sake of the gospel

    3. Ways in which family planning have brought conflicts in modern families
      -Failure of some family planning methods has led to more children hence more burden
      -Use of family planning without other partner’s knowledge results in suspicion that the partner using family planning being unfaithful
      -One partner insisting that the other should use family planning against his or her will
      -Family planning may result in health complications to users e.g high blood pressure
      -Family planning may encourage unfaithfulness and other irresponsible sexual behaviors since the partner using the family planning may not fear getting pregnant
      -Some family planning methods may cause impotence or barrenness this may cause conflicts in the family

      -Work and leisure were instilled by God during creation so they are both important to the life of human being
      -Work is exhausting so we need leisure to replenish lost energy
      -While work is a means of acquiring basics for life, leisure guarantees celebrate that has been earned through work
      -Both work and leisure are God’s work
      -Doing work which is not our regular occupations can be a form of leisure
      -Work can lead into tension /frustrations leading to depression, well planned leisure activity may counteract the depression
      -Since God worked and took rest, human beings should also do the same
      -Leisure gives one an opportunity to perform work of charity
      -Leisure gives us an opportunity to praise God for the work accomplished
    2. Reasons why a Christian should not resort to strike action as a way of presenting grievances (6mks)
      -Show disobedience to lawful institutional authority which is against biblical teachings
      -It disrupts peaceful working atmosphere
      -Leads to waste of time and resources
      -Could lead to destruction of property
      -May lead to loss of life which goes against God’s commandments
      -My lead to sacking /unemployment /suffering of the individual and their dependants
      -Leads to bitterness / hatred/ frustrations/ revenge
    3. Ways in which the church can promote self-employment in modern society   (7mks)
      -Open technical institutes for masons, carpenters, electricians etc
      -Provide guidance and counseling for positive attitude towards work
      -Enhance sense of responsibility in work
      -Giving them assistance is obtaining the equipment to start small scale enterprises
      -Help them find market for finished goods
      -Organize communal self- help projects
