  - They were not written at once but they were collected over time/organized to different subjects.
  - They were written in different styles e.g. narratives, letters, prayer, sayings.
  - Some were written by prophets themselves following Gods commands.
  - Some prophets dictated their messages to their disciples/scribes e.g. Jeremiah.
  - Some messages were preserved by their disciples who passed them over to other generations.
  - The scribes reorganized the prophets teachings according to subject matter.
  - Some were preserved and passed on by their follower through oral traditions.

  - It would be a day of mourning and suffering.
  - The word of God would be scarce like food during famine.

  - He was son of Hilkiah the priest of Anathoth.
  - He was appointed to be a messenger of God before his birth.
  - He was reluctant to respond o God’s call claiming he was young and did not know how to speak.
  - God touched his mouth and put His words in the mouth.
  - He was to uproot and pull down to destroy and overthrow to build and o plant nations and kingdoms.
  - He saw two visions:
  - A rod of Almond tree.
  - A boiling pot facing away from the North.
  - He was made a fortified city, an iron pillar and a bronze wall.
  - He responded to God’s call in faith and obedience.

  - Wailing / crying is a sign of sorrow / announcing death.
  - Making sacrifices to appease the ancestors / deceased / spirits.
  - Prayers are made to ask the ancestors to accept the dead in the world of spirits.
  - Sharing hair by members of the bereaved family signify new life in the community.
  - Singing and dancing depict anger towards death / oiling the body before burial show respect to the departed.
  - Washing / oiling the body before burial show respect to the departed.
  - Burying the dead in the ancestral land shows that on is still a member of the community.
