    1. Explain the Jewish expectation of the Messiah. (7mks)
      • He would be a ruler from David’s link who would conquer and overthrow the roman rule.
      • He would be stationed in Jerusalem and other nations of the world would pay homage to him/appear in Jerusalem full of glory.
      • He would bring judgment to all enemies
      • He would be a ruler without sin and would not associate with the poor, sinners and gentiles
      • The Messiah would strictly follow the Law of Moses.
      • He would conquer the enemies of Israel as a military ruler
      • He would avenger Israelite enemies
      • He would be born in a royal family
      • He would lead Israel into economic political prosperity.
    2. Explain four differences between the annunciation of the birth of John the Baptist and Jesus Christ (8mks)
      • John’s birth was announced in the temple while Jesus to his mother at home
      • The birth of john was announced to his father and Jesus to his father
      • John would be born through biological conception while Jesus by Holy Spirit conception.
      • Zachariah doubted the message because of old age while Mary doubted because she was a virgin
      • Zachariah was given the sign of bring dumb while Mary was given Elizabeth pregnancy
      • The angle announced that John was to prepare the way while Jesus would full forever.
    3. State five ways in which Christians should respond to childlessness in Kenya. (5mks)
      • Pray to God to bless their marriage with a child
      • Seek guidance and counseling
      • Seek medical advice
      • Remain faithful in spite of the problem and accept it as God’s will
      • Should remain patient
      • Should seek advice from experienced couples
      • Continue to uphold the church doctrine on marriage
      • They may adopt children.

    1. Describe the feeding of 5,000 people as narrated in Luke 9:10-17 (7mks)
      • The apostils came back and told Jesus everything they had done
      • Jesus took them to Bethsaida
      • The crowd followed and he taught them about the kingdom of God.
      • When the sun was beginning to set, the twelve came to Jesus and told him to send the people away to the village and farms to look for food and lodgings.
      • Jesus told them to give them food
      • They answered they had only five loaves of bread and two fish
      • He told them to make people sit in groups of fifty.
      • After this Jesus took five loaves and two fish looked to heaven thanked God and broke them ad gave to the disciples to distribute.
      • They all ate and had enough
      • Twelve baskets of leftovers were collected.

      • Juseus miracles caused amazement
      •  People became aware of Jesus authority through miracles
      •  Jesus become popular allover Galilee
      •  This created conflict between religious leaders and him.
      •  This causes losses eg pigs drowned
      •  They restored happiness
      •  Increased people’s faith
      •  Followers increased in number
