    1. Differentiate between Makkan and Madina Surah (7marks)
      • Makkan Surahs are generally short whole Madina Surahs are long
      • Makkan surahs are many 86 in number whole Madinan surahs are few 28
      • Makkan surahs were revealed before Hiftar to madina whole madinan surahs were revealded after Hiftar / 13years vs 10years
      • Makkan surahs mention believers and their qualities while Madina surah mention munatizun
      • Makkan surahs emphasizes on building of Iman while madina surahs emphasize of implementation by believers
      • Makkan surahs are poetic and rhythimic in style while madina surahs mostly are in prose
      • Makkan surahs address humanity as oh you mankind while madina address believers as oh you who believe.7x1
    2. State the benefits of translating the quran into other languages (7marks)
      • Makes it easy for people to study and compare the quran with other books/ Islam with other religions
      • Those who translate the quran are highly rewarded
      • Helps non Arab Muslims read and understand the quran thus become better practicing Muslims
      • It makes it easy to teach those who do not understand Arabic
      • It enables people to easily refer to the quran
      • It helps people understand quran in their own language
      • It helps enrich the other language in which it is translated into
      • Acts as a source of knowledge for researchers, preachers, students and teachers 7x1

      • After the conquest of makka many arab tribes sent delegates to the prophet to make alligience and accept islam
      • The Bedwins appeared unpolished in the speech and actions
      • They addressed the prophet loudly and in a disrespectful manner
      • Their approach to the prophet displeased Allah
      • Allah revealed this surah to reprimand them to lay down a general code of behavior for Muslims and for all people . 6x1
    3. State the teachings of interpersonal relationships between Muslims according to suratul Hyurat (7marks)

      • Believers are nothing less than brothers
      • They verfy information before taking any action
      • They dont refer to another by insulting nicknames

      • The Hadith contradict the fundamental principals of islams
      • The Hadith Does Not trace back to the prophet
      • The chain of transmission is broken
      • The ghadith does not quote what the prophet said /didIt give Gives details of future events e.g Date and time 6x1

      • Sharia laws are from Allah while secular laws are man made
      • sharia laws are universal while secular laws are suitable inly to a particular state or cmmunity
      • sharia are perfect while secular are far from perfection hence need reviews from time to time
      • changing sharia laws is considered blasphemous while secular laws can be amendended to suite one
      • one cannot break sharia laws and get away with them while secular laws one can break them and easily get away with them 5x2
    2. List five crimes and their Punishment under hudud laws
      • Zinaa-fornication-100 lashes
      • Adultury –stonning to death
      • Sariqa/theft –Chopping off the wrist
      • Ridaa/Apostacy –death
      • Highway robbery –Exile /chopping hand &leg opposite side /crusification
      • Murder –Death
      • Qudhf/Slander -80 lashes
      • Drinking alcohol -40/80 lashes
    3. State the conditions to be fulfilled for one to be considered a muhtajid (6marks)
      • Must be a Muslim /pions
      • Must be Matured and sane
      • Must be modest and Upright
      • Must have the knowledge of the Islamic Sharia
      • Must be well versed with the Quran and its science
      • Must be well Versed with the sunnah of the prophet
      • Must be well versed with the knowledge of the jihad

      • Have the knowledge of the pattern of the behavior ,customs and tradition of the locals
