(Exodus 32:1-30) (8mks)- Moses had gone up the mountain to collect the written ten commandments
- He stayed for a long time / people became impatient
- They asked Aaron to make them a god they could worship
- Aaron asked them to bring their jewellery/ used jewellery to make them a god
- The people worshipped the calf
- God was angry/ wanted to destroy the Israelites
- Moses pleaded with God not to destroy them
- Moses came down and found the people worshipping the calf
- He became angry and threw the tablets and they broke
- Moses took the calf, smelted it and mixed it with water
- Forced people to drink the mixture
- He asked those who had not sinned to kill those that had sinned
- Around 3000 people were killed

- The righteous could be sold for silver and the needy for pair of shoes.

- In order to show/acknowledge God as the provider of everything.
- So as to praise/glorify/exalt God.
- To seek for guidance/direction from God.

- Spirits are invisible /do not have a physical form
- Spirits are more powerful than human beings
- They are believed to be residing in caves/rives/ trees /rocks
