      • The Old Testament was written in Hebrew language then it was translated into the Greek language.
      • In the fourth century it was translated into Latin language.
      • The New Testament was first written in Greek in 16th century it was translated into English and German.
      • The German Bible was translated into Kiswahili by Doctor Ludwig Krapf.
      • The missionaries later translated the Bible into local languages.
      • The international united Bible society has translated the Bible into other languages of the world.
      • The Bible society of Kenya has translated the Bible still continues with the work of translation (7 x 1= 7mks)
    2. Discuss the effects of Bible translation into African languages.
      • It led to development of local languages.
      • Local people could be able to read and understand the Bible in their own languages.
      • The word of God reached more people in their own languages.
      • It led to establishment of more school because more people wanted to know how to read and write so that they could be able to read the bible for themselves.
      • It led to mass evangelization. More Africans became Christians.
      • There was demand for more Bible reading to the establishment of local printing presses.
      • It has led to ecumenical co-operation.

    1. Describe the first account of creation in Genesis 1 (7mks)
      • Before creation of the earth was formless and empty.
      • God created everything through a divine command “let there be”.
      • The work of creation took place in six days
      • First day- Light (day) and separated it from darkness(night)
      • Second day- Heaven and the sky.
      • Third day- Earth, seas, ocean and all types of plants.
      • Fourth day- Heavenly bodies (sun, moon, stars) to give light and determine time.
      • Fifth day- water creatures and all kinds of birds.
      • Sixth day man / Human beings both wild and domestic animals.
      • Human beings were given special privileges and responsibilities over other creatures.
      • God commanded human beings to procreate and multiply
      • Everything that God created was good and pleasing to him.
      • Seventh day God rested blessed it and made it holy. (7 x 1= 7mks)
    2. Identify the responsibilities given to human beings by God in the Biblical creation stories. (8mks)
      • To till/ cultivate the land.
      • To guard / protect the land/ conserve care for the land / keep it.
      • They should procreate/ have children/ fill the earth / multiply.
      • To be in charge of the fish/ birds/ animals.
      • To give names to God’s creation.
      • To feed from the plants.
      • They should obey God’s commands.
      • To marry for companionship.
      • Human beings should help each other.
      • To subdue /have dominion over the earth/ control. (8 x 1= 8mks)
    3. How can Christians care for God’s creation today.(6mks)
      • Treat the rest of creation with respect and reverence.
      • Preserve, conserve and take care of the environment.
      • Establishing game reserves.
      • Through scientific discovery of medicine planting trees.
      • Condemning careless cutting of trees.

    1. From the story of the fall of human beings in Genesis chapter 3, state the effects of sin.(7mks)

    3. State the lessons that Christians learn from the call of Abraham.(6mks)
      • Christians should be ready to be sent by God anywhere.

      • Christians should honour God and when rewarded or blessed.
      • Christians must be ready to sacrifice anything for God.
      • Christians must be ready to be tempted or tested.
