    • Marriage is secret
    • It is monogamous
    • It is for companionship
    • It is between a man and a woman
    • It is continuation of God’s work of creation
    • It is permanent union/no divorce
    • Husband and wife should be ashamed of each other.
    • It is for procreation
    • Man and woman are to complement each other.
  3. Describe how God tested Abrahams faith in genesis 22:1-19(8mks)
    • God called Abraham and Abraham said here I am.
    • He asked him to take her son to the land of moriah and offer him a sacrifice upon one of the mountains he will tell him.
    • Abraham rose early in the morning, saddled his ass and took two of his servants and his son Isaac.
    • He cut wood for the burnt offering and went to the place God had told him.
    • On the third day, he lifted his eyes and saw the place a far off.
    • He told the young men to stay while he would go up with her son to worship and come back.
    • He laid the wood on Isaac and took in his hand, fire and knife.
    • Isaac inquired where the lamb for the burnt offering was
    • Abraham replied that god would provide the lamb
    • When they reached the place god had told him about, Abraham built an alter and arranged the wood on it
    • He bound his son Isaac and laid him on the altar, on top of the wood.
    • Then he reached out his hand and took the knife to slay his son.
    • But the angel of god called him from heaven by name.
    • He told him not to do anything to the son for it had been confirmed that he feared god

    • Expected the establishment of the kingdom of the messiah to be proceeded by cosmic signs/mysteries.

  6. Describe the incident in which Jesus healed jairus daughter(luke8:40-56)(7mks)
    • Jairus, a ruler of the synagogue came to Jesus/fell at the feet of Jesus.
    • He begged Jesus to go to his house for his only daughter was dying.
    • Jesus agreed to go, large crowd pressed against him
    • .on the way he healed a woman who had flow of blood for twelve years
    • A man from the ruler’s house brought a message that then daughter had already died/no need to trouble the teacher anymore.
    • Jesus told jairus not to fear but believe/his daughter will be well.
    • Jesus went into the house with peter, john and jairus and the parents of the child.
    • The people were weeping/waiting for her/Jesus told them not to weep because she was not dead.
    • Jesus took the child by the hand/told her to arise.
    • Her spirit returned /she got up at once.
    • Jesus directed that something be given to her to eat.
    • The Childs parents were amazed.
    • Jesus charged them not to tell anyone what happened.
  7. State five reasons why Jesus used parables(5mks)
    • Jesus used parables in order to attract listeners/audience.
    • He wanted to provoke his listeners to think for themselves/make individual judgment.
    • In order to isolate serious/keen listeners from those who were not.
    • He wanted to keep his identity secret
    • The use of the parables was to avoid direct confrontation with the Jewish religious leaders
    • It was a demonstration of his wisdom.
    • It was a common method of teaching.
  8. From the story of naboths vineyard state five commandments which king Ahab and queen jezebel broke(5mks)
    • They broke the commandment not to kill
    • The broke the rule of not worshipping other gods
    • Coveting a neighbor’s property.

  9. Narrate the parable of the widow and unjust judge Luke 18:1-8(6mks)
    • There was a judge who neither feared god nor regarded man.
    • There was a widow who kept on coming to the judge to settle a case between her and her enemies
    • The judge at first refused to grant the request of the widow.
    • The widow did not give up/persisted on her request
    • The judge finally accepted to grant the widow her request
    • Jesus said that god would vindicate/grant the request of those who pray to him persistently
    • Jesus said that god responds to those who pray to him in faith speedily.
  10. With reference to Luke 1:8 20,describe the annunciation of the birth of john the Baptist(7mks)
    • Angel Gabriel appeared to Zachariah as he performed priestly duties in the temple.
    • The angel stood by the right side of the altar.
    • Zachariah was filled with fear when he saw the angel.
    • The angel told him not to be afraid/his prayer had been heard.
    • The angel informed Zachariah the work/qualities of the son to be born.
    • The angel told Zachariah that the wife would bear him a son/the son would be called john.
    • Zachariah did not believe the angels message because he and his wife were advanced in age.
    • The angel revealed his identity as Gabriel who had been sent by god to bring the message.
    • Because of his misbelieve, the angel made him dumb until the bay was born.
    • Zachariah delayed in the temple which made worshippers to wonder. When he came out, he could not speak/he made signs to the people/people perceived that he had seen a vision in the temple.
  11. Describe the incident when Jesus was tempted in the wilderness(Luke 4:1-13)(5mks)
    • The Holy Spirit led Jesus into the wilderness for fourty days.
    • While in the wilderness, he ate nothing/he was hungry
    • The devil told him to command stones to be bread. Jesus answered him that man does not live by bread alone.
    • The devil took him up and showed him the kingdoms of the world/showed him all authority and glory if he bows down and worship him it shall be yours.
    • Jesus replied that it’s written, you shall worship the lord your god and serve him alone.
    • The devil took Jesus to the pinnacle of the temple, telling him to throw himself down and god’s angels will guard him.
    • Jesus replied, “you shall not tempt lord your god”
    • The devil departed from him until an opportune time.
  12. State four ways in which Christians demonstrate their faith in God(4mks)
    • Christian pray/pronounce God’s blessings in the name of god.
    • They gave offerings/tithes in the church.
    • They confess/repent their sins/forgave others
    • They build places of worship for god.
    • They undergo baptism/partake Holy Communion.
    • By visiting places perceived to be holy.
    • By obeying the Ten Commandments.
    • By helping the needy.
    • By composing songs.
    • By preaching the gospel.
