      1. It provides Christian with moral values

    2. Seven ways in which the bible is misused in Kenya today.
      1. It is used to take oaths in courts/ offices by people who may not be believers/ not saying the truth.
      2.  It is kept in places associated with evil
      3. There is distortion of the Bible teachings/ specific verses are picked to fulfill individual demands
      4. Some people use the bible like an ordinary text book
      5. It is being used in witchcraft/ cults to mislead people
      6. Some people are using it to enrich themselves/ it is tool of trade
      7. Some new version translated have changed the original meaning of the bible
      8. The bible is not read for spiritual growth but is kept for display

    1. Activities carried out by the Israelites on the night of the Passover
      1.  Every man choose a lamb for his family
      2. The chose animal was slaughtered
      3. Blood was put on the two door posts of the house
      4. The slaughtered animal was to be roasted
      5. The Israelites ate the unleavened bread/bitter herbs/ roasted meat
      6. They ate while fully dressed for the journey
      7. They stayed indoors till morning
      8. They burnt all the left over
      9. They collected the jewellery from the Egyptian woman.
    2. Contest between Prophet Elijah and the prophet of Baal at Mt. Carmel (1st kings 18:17-40) (7marks)
      • Prophet Elijah asked King Ahab to assemble all the people at Mount Carmel.
      • The king summoned all the people including the prophet of Baal to Mount Carmel.
      • Elijah told the people to choose between the worshiping God and Baal
      • He suggested to the people that two bulls be brought and each party to offer the sacrifice to their God.
      • The prophets of Baal were given a bull which they prepared and called upon the name of their god.
      • They prayed, cut themselves with knives until they bled but Baal did not answer them
      • Elijah asked the people to come near him as he repaired the alter of God.
      • He placed the sacrifice on the altar and asked the people to pour water on it.
      • He called upon God to prove that he was the living God.
      • Fire consurned the sacrifice/ the wood/ stone/ the water dust around it.
      • The people threw themselves on the ground and worshiped the lord as rue God. Elijah killed the prophets of Baal

    1. The servant of Yahweh according to prophet Isaiah
      1. The servant would succeed in His work and would be highly honored
      2. The servant would be despised, rejected and ignored by people
      3. He will be simple and humble
      4. He would be harshly treated, arrested, sentenced to death and killed
      5. He will be buried with bodies of rich men
      6. He would endure suffering with a humble silence
      7. He would accept suffering on behalf of others for their sins
      8. Through His suffering, human beings would be reconciled to God
      9. Through the will of God, the servant of Yahweh would suffer
    2. Ways in which Christians today play the role of John the Baptist (6mks)
      • Preaching repentance of sin
      • Praying and fasting in preparation for the coming of the kingdom
      • Helping the poor, orphaned and homeless
      • Healing those possessed with evil powers
      • Administering baptism
      • Attending church worship
      • Advising people to live moral lives
      • Condemning evil practices in society
      • Advising preachers on the affairs of the state
      • Advising leaders on their roles in society
      • Providing education for all
      • Sharing their belongings
      • Teaching people about their human rights and their obligations to others

    1. The healing of the Centurion's servant (8mks)
      • When Jesus entered Capernaum from Jerusalem, there was a centurion whose servant was sick and about to die. This was a servant the centurion was very fond of
      • The centurion sent Jewish elders to Jesus to request Him to heal his servant. They said, "He is worthy to have you do this for him, for he loves our nation, and he built us our synagogue
      • Jesus consented and went with the elders, before Jesus reached the centurion's house, the centurion sent his friends to stop Him from entering his house
      • The centurion said that he was not worthy to have Jesus under his roof, Jesus could just say a word and it would be obeyed
      • On hearing this, Jesus declared to the crowd that not even in Israel has he found such faith. When those who had been sent returned to the centurion's house, they found the centurion healed his servant.
    2. Identify seven reasons why Jesus healed the sick (7 marks)
      • Demonstrate God's love for human beings.
      • To take away their pain / suffering.
      • People had faith in Him.
      • Believed in His healing.
      • To show that physical healing symbolizes spiritual healing.
      • A way of destroying Satan's Kingdom.
      • To glorify God / show God's power.
      • To fulfill the Old Testament prophecies

    1. Outline the incident in which Jesus forgave the Sinful Woman Luke 7:3-5. (7 marks)
      • Jesus had been invited by a Pharisee for dinner.
      • While He was at the table, a sinful woman came with an alabaster of ointment.
      • She stood at Jesus feet weeping/wet his feet with tears.
      • She used her hair to wipe the feet of Jesus.
      • The Pharisee who had invited Jesus wondered whether Jesus was a prophet.
      • Jesus knew the thoughts of Simeon and told him the parable of the creditor/ two debtors.
      • Jesus asked Simon who of the two debtors would love the creditor more.
      • He told Simon that the woman had shown Jesus much love.
      • The other guests began to question who Jesus was to have the power to forgive sins.
      • Jesus had saved her falth had saved her.
      • He told her to go in peace
    2. Reasons why Jesus used parables in His teachings (6marks)
      • To explain the nature of the kingdom of God.
      • It was one of the methods used by Jesus to teach Gods words
      • It explains the nature of God
      • Some of the parables teach about the need to love ones neighbor.
      • To identify those who were sincere in seeking the kingdom of God from the onlookers
      • To challenge His hearers and challenge their imaginations.
      • To teach His disciples that they should be persistent and never be discouraged.
