    1. Outline what Angel Gabriel revealed about John the Baptist when he announced his birth to Zachariah.   (7mks)
      • He would be a source of joy to the parents.
      • Many people would rejoice at his birth.
      • He would be great in sight of the Lord.
      • He was not to take strong drink /wine.
      • He was to be filled with the Holy Spirit from mothers’ womb.
      • Many Israelite would turn to God through Him.
      • He would have Spirit of Elijah.
      • He would prepare people for the Lord.
      • He would turn the father’s hearts to children.
    2. From the story of the early life of Jesus up to twelve years, identify ways through which he is seen as coming from poor background. (6mks)
      • His father was a poor carpenter.
      • His mother was an ordinary village girl.
      • He was born in a manger/ cattle shed.
      • He was born in a small town of Judah /Bethlehem.
      • The first people to visit him were shepherd.
      • He was revealed to Simeon and Anna who were simple.
      • During dedication the parents offered birds.

      • Jesus was led into wilderness where he stayed for forty days.
      • He ate nothing and therefore he felt hungry.
      • The devil asked Him to command stone to become bread if He was the Son of God.
      • Jesus told him that man could not live by bread alone.
      • The devil took Jesus up and showed Him the kingdoms of the world and asked him to worship him, so that he could give him everything.
      • Jesus told the devil that only God alone is to be worshiped and served.
      • The devil took Jesus to pinnacle of temple and asked Him to throw Himself down for God would command angles to guard Him.
      • Jesus told devil that one should not tempt God.

      • Jesus and the disciple arrived at the land of Gerasene.
      • They met a man who was demon possessed and live among the tombs.
      • The man fell down and told Jesus not to torment him.
      • This is because Jesus had commanded the unclean spirit out of a man.
      • Jesus asked the man his name.
      • The man replied that his name is legion meaning many demons.
      • Demon begged Jesus not to let them go into abyss but into swine that were near by.
      • Jesus commanded demons to go into swine.
      • Swine rushed and drowned in a nearby lake.
      • Herdsmen then fled and went to tell people in the city concerning what had happened.
      • People came and found the man sitting at feet of Jesus, healed, dressed and in his right mind.
      • People got afraid of Jesus and asked him to leave their territory.
      • The healed man asked Jesus whether he could accompany him.
      • Jesus told him to go and tell others what God had done to him.
      • The man went through town proclaiming good news about Jesus.

      • Through a sound from heaven.
      • Like a mighty rushing wind.
