3. Identify three disadvantages of buying a house. (3mks)
   • The affordable house may be in a hostile neighbourhood.
   • The house might have been built or poorly drained soil.
   • The house might have been built on disputed land.
   • The plan of the house may not be to your satisfaction.
   • Materials used my be of inferior quality.
   • An older house may need major renovations.
   • The cost of buying a house is much higher than if one were to build.
4. Give two uses of starch in laundry work. (2mks)
   • It is used to stiffen clothes and household articles.

   • To prevent damage of fibres by the detergent used.

    • Vitamin C to help the mother’s body to resist infections and for absorption of iron.

    • Budgeting acts as a guide to wise purchasing by prioritizing spending.
    • It enables one to live within their means by spending only on items they can afford.
    • It also enables one to avoid impulse buying by buying only the budgeted items.
    • One is able to set priorities and plan for present and future needs.
    • It enables one to accumulate family savings.
    • It provide a basis for analyzing the needs of the family.
    • It also gives psychological satisfaction to the family members because all the needs of the family members are meet.
    • Budgeting enables a family to estimate all their financial needs and plan for other sources and methods of supplementing their income.
