    • It contains many books
    • It has different categories of books/division
    • The books are written in different styles/forms
    • The books in the Bible were written at different times
    • The books in the Bible address different issues/topics/purpose
    • The books were written for different audience/readers
    • The books are systematically arranged/ Chronological/ order
    • Reference book for theology
  2. Give differences between Jewish and the traditional African Circumcision practices (8mks)
    • In the Jewish community, is for the boys only while in some traditional African communities it is for both boys and girls
    • In the Jewish community, it is done on eighth day while in the traditional African communities it is done during adolescent stage
    • Its purpose in the Jewish communityis to identify with Gods people while in the traditional African communities is to promote one to adult life
    • Among the Jews, the practice was commanded by God while in the traditional African communities it was done in obedience to the ancestors
    • The rite is not seasonal among the Jews as it is the case in traditional African communities
    • In Traditional African communities it is gate way to more responsibilities while among the Jews one it too young for any responsibility

    • The Messiah would be born of a virgin/young woman
    • He would be called Emmanuel
    • He would be a wonderful counselor /Mighty God/Everlasting Father/Prince of peace
    • The Messiah would have an everlasting kingdom
    • He would be a ruler from the house of David
    • He would rule with justice/righteousness/peace
    • He would be humble/simple/ordinary/without beauty (nothing attractive)
    • The messiah would be Rejected/despised/sentenced to die
    • He would suffer for the forgiveness of sins of many people
    • It would be the will of His Father for Him to suffer
    • He would succeed in His work/ be highly honored
    • He would be filled with Gods Spirit/anointed
    • He would preach good news/set captives free
  4. Explain the Jewish expectations concerning the Messiah (7mks)
    • The Jews expected the Messiah to come from the lineage of David/royal descent
    • They expected the Messiah to come after the return of prophet Elijah
    • The expected the Messiah to be apolitical leader/one who would overthrow the Roman rulers
    • The Messiah would convert Jerusalem to be a Centre of rule/political Centre
    • The Messiah was not expected to associate with the poor/sinners/gentiles
    • The Messiah was expected to make Judaism a superior religion
    • The Jews expected the Messiah who would perform miracles
    • They expected establishment of the kingdom of Messiah to be proceeded with cosmic signs
    • They expected the Messiah to Establish the Kingdom by conquering the Enemies of Israel
    • The Messiah was to rule the whole world
  5. Explain the teachings of Jesus on the qualities of a true disciple Lk 6:20-49 (8mks)
    • Perseverance-in the face of persecution-A true disciple should should endure suffering
    • unwaring faith in Jesus –a true disciple should have absolute faith in God
    • Love for enemies- a true disciple should love even their enemies/pray for them
    • Obedience/implementers of the teachings of Jesus –A true disciple should accept the Lordship of Christ
    • Forgiving others- A true disciple should forgive others/not revenge
    • Not judge others-A true disciple should exercise self-criticism before judging others
    • Show compassion/mercy to others-A true disciple should be merciful just like God
  6. Give signs of the end time as taught by Jesus according to St Luke 21:5-38 (6mks)
    • Strange things will happen to the celestial bodies/sun/moon/star
    • People will come claiming to be the Messiah
    • There would be wars between nations
    • Natural calamities like earthquakes/roaring of the seas will occur
    • The followers of Christ will be hated/persecuted
    • There would be famine/pestilences
  7. Describe the incidences that led to rejection of Jesus at Nazareth Lk4:16-30 (7mks)
    • Jesus came to Nazareth where He was brought up
    • He went to the Synagogue as he usually did on the Sabbath Day
    • He was given a book of prophet Isaiah when He stood up to rea
    • He opened the book found the place that was written About Him and read it to the people
    • After reading He closed the book and gave it to Attendant and sat down
    • Everybody in the synagogue looked at Him
    • He told them that the scripture He has read was fulfilled in their hearing
    • All people were Happy with what He had spoken
    • People wondered aloud saying “is this not Josephs son”
    • Jesus told them that they would ask Him to do in His country things He had in Capernaum
    • He told them that they were many widows in Israel during the time of Elijah but God sent the prophet to a prophet to a widow to Zeraphath/God only healed Naaman the Syria of Leprosy during the time of Elisha
    • They were filled with anger/wanted to throw Him head long the cliff
    • Jesus passed through their midst and went away

    • Human being should love enemies
    • They should do good to those who hate them
    • They should bless those who mistreat them
    • They should bless those who curse them
    • They should help those in need
    • They should lend without expecting anything in return
    • They should show mercy to others
    • They should not judge/condemn others
    • Human being should forgive one another
    • They should be generous
    • They should do unto others what they expect done to them
  9. Describe the triumphant entry of Jesus into Jerusalem Lk19:28-40 ( 8mks)
    • When Jesus came to Mt. Olives, He sent two of His disciples to get a colt which they were to bring to Him
    • The disciples found the colt and untied it
    • The owner of the colt sought to know where it was being taken
    • The disciples told them that the Lord needed it
    • The disciples brought the colt to Jesus/ put garments on its back and set Jesus on it
    • As Jesus went along on the colt, people spread the garments on the Road where He passed
    • The whole crowd of disciples praised/glorified God joyfully in loud voices for all the mighty works they had seen
    • Jesus answered them that if the disciples keep quiet, the stones would cry out
