- In the Jewish community, is for the boys only while in some traditional African communities it is for both boys and girls
- In the Jewish community, it is done on eighth day while in the traditional African communities it is done during adolescent stage
- Its purpose in the Jewish communityis to identify with Gods people while in the traditional African communities is to promote one to adult life
- Among the Jews, the practice was commanded by God while in the traditional African communities it was done in obedience to the ancestors
- The rite is not seasonal among the Jews as it is the case in traditional African communities
- In Traditional African communities it is gate way to more responsibilities while among the Jews one it too young for any responsibility

- He would be called Emmanuel
- He would be a wonderful counselor /Mighty God/Everlasting Father/Prince of peace
- The Messiah would have an everlasting kingdom
- He would be a ruler from the house of David
- He would rule with justice/righteousness/peace
- He would be humble/simple/ordinary/without beauty (nothing attractive)
- The messiah would be Rejected/despised/sentenced to die
- He would suffer for the forgiveness of sins of many people
- It would be the will of His Father for Him to suffer

- The disciples found the colt and untied it
- The owner of the colt sought to know where it was being taken
- The disciples told them that the Lord needed it
- The disciples brought the colt to Jesus/ put garments on its back and set Jesus on it
- As Jesus went along on the colt, people spread the garments on the Road where He passed
- The whole crowd of disciples praised/glorified God joyfully in loud voices for all the mighty works they had seen
