      • Nathans prophecy to David that God would rise up an heir from David’s lineage to rule Israel forever is affirmed by angel Gabriel to many during the annunciation
      • Isaiah’s prophecy about a young man who would conceive is fulfilled in the virgin conception of Mary
      • Isaiah’s prophecy that the messiah would be named Immanuel is fulfilled in angel Gabriel’s message to Joseph
      • Mary’s song echoes the Old Testament text which has influence to the ministry of Jesus
      • The psalmist prophecy about a messiah who would bring salvation to all nations is fulfilled in Jesus who is a universal savior as echoed by Simeon’s prophecy

      • Jesus accepted and went with them
      • The centurion sent his friends to stop Jesus not to come to his house for he did not deserve the visit
      • He believed that if Jesus just said one word the servant would be healed
      • Jesus marveled at the faith of the centurion and made his servant well
      • When the friends of the centurion went back home they found the servant well

      • A man planted a vineyard and left it to tenants and went to another country for a long time
      • When the time came for harvest he sent three servants to the tenants so that they could give him some of the fruits of the vineyard but the three servants were beaten and sent away empty handed
      • He finally sent his own son thinking that the tenants would accord him the necessary respect
      • When the tenants saw him they agreed among themselves to kill him and inherit the vineyard
      • Jesus then asked what the man would do to tenants in return
      • He said that the man would destroy the tenants and give others the vineyard

      • In the New Testament the church is referred to as the bride married to Christ (bridegroom)
      • Christians ate to be committed/ submissive to Christ just as the bride is to the bridegroom
      • The church must be pure as they prepare for the groom
      • The committed Christians will be taken to a new home (Jerusalem/heaven) just like the bride is taken to a new home
      • The union will be eternal/ permanent
      • Christ love the church just like the bridegroom loves the church
      • The church should prepare for Jesus coming just as the bride prepare for the husband

    1. give the account of the forgiveness of the sinful woman in Luke 7:36-50 (8 mks)
      • One of the Pharisees named Simeon had invited Jesus to have dinner with him at his house
      • When a woman who had lived a sinful life in that town learnt that Jesus was eating at the Pharisee house she brought an alabaster jar of perfume
      • She fell at Jesus feet and wept
      • She wet Jesus feet with her tears, wiped them with her hair, kissed them and poured expensive oil on them
      • When simeron and his fellow Pharisees saw this they wondered if Jesus was truly the messiah
      • If he was a messiah he would know that the woman was a sinner
      • Jesus answered Simeon by giving him a parable of the two debtors who owed money to a certain money lender
      • The lender canceled the debt for the debtor could not pay
      • Jesus explained to Simeon that a person acknowledge that he or she has sinned and ask for forgiveness often appreciates forgiveness the most
      • Jesus forgave the sinful woman and told her to rise u[p and go home and not to sin again
      • He said that her faith had healed her.
