- External borrowing may have strings attached/conditions given.
- Government may raise a substantial amount internally compared to external borrowing.
- Government can use internal borrowing to influence economic policies eg. Reducing inflation. External borrowing cannot be used to influence economic policies.
- Interest paid is still used to develop the country unlike in external borrowing where interestearned developed the lending countries.
