    2. With reference to Lk1:13-17, outline the message of Angel Gabriel about John to Zechariah. (7 marks)

      2. He told them they should go to the other side of the lake so they st out
      3. As they sailed Jesus fell asleep
      4. A storm of wind came down on the lake
      5. The boat was filled with water
      6. The disciples went and woke up Jesus saying “Master we are drowning”
      7. Jesus got up and rebuked the wind
      8. The storm subsided
      9. Jesus asked their disciples where their faith was
      10. The disciples were afraid/they marveled
      11. The disciples wondered who Jesus was even the wind obey Him
    3. Give six reasons why Christians should have faith in God. (6 marks)
      1. God fulfills the promises He makes to human beings
      2. Those who pray in faith receive their request
      3. Helps Christians grow spiritually
      4. Christians who have faith can be healed.
      5. Faith helps Christians overcome temptations.
      6. Faith helps Christians to wait patiently for the second coming.

    1. Give an account of Jesus’ teaching on watchfulness and readiness.  Luke 12:35-48. (7 marks)
      1. Believers should be dressed for his coming. V35.
      2. They should keep their lamps burning.
      3. They should be awake/alert. v36.
      4. Those who are found waiting shall be blessed.
      5. They should be prepared all the time since they don’t know the time for Christ’s coming. V.39
      6. Believers should continue working until Christ comes back. v.43
      7. The servants/believers who are drunkards/mistreat fellow workers will be punished v.45-46
      8. Those who know what is required of them/their masters will and fail to do it will receive a severe beating. v47.
      9. Believers are supposed to respond to God according to how much they have received from him.
      10. Those who do wrong out of ignorance will receive lesser beatings/punishment. v.48
    2. How did Jesus celebrate the last supper with his disciples?  Luke 22:14-38 (7 marks)
      1. Jesus sat with his disciples at one table.
      2. He told them that he had desired to have the meal with them
      3. He took the cup, gave thanks and asked the disciples to share.
      4. He also took the bread, gave thanks, broke it and gave it to them.
      5. He explained to them the meaning of the bread and wine/the bread was his body/the wine was his blood that would zeal the new covenant.
      6. He commanded the disciples to hold the ritual in memory of him.
      7. He informed them that he would be betrayed by one of them.
      8. He taught the disciples qualities of good leadership/humility/service to others.
      9. He told Simon that he would be tested by Satan/He informed him that he had already prayed for him.
      10. He asked Simon/Peter to strengthen others in their faith.
      11. Jesus told Peter that he would deny him three times before the cock crowed.
      12. He commanded the disciples to acquire swords/have their own provisions/personal belongings.
    3. Give six reasons why the disciples found it difficult to believe that Jesus had resurrected. (6 marks)
      1. The message was first taken to them by women who were regarded lowly in the society hence it seemed an idle talk.
      2. They had witnessed the helplessness of Jesus at the time of crucifixion hence had lost hope in him.
      3. They had witnessed the burial/could not imagine how the stone could be rolled away from the tomb.
      4. They felt ashamed for having denied/betrayed him, hence wished it was not true.
      5. They had not understood the reading of Jesus which indicated that he would resurrect on the third day.
      6. It was a new experience they had never seen/heard of people coming back to life after death on their own.
      7. They lacked faith in the readings of Christ.
      8. They had expected a political Messiah who was to die in dignity/would not resurrect.

      3. The believers from the parts of the body.
      4. The body has different organs in the same way the church has different members.
      5. They all need to work together for the wellbeing of the church.
      6. Every part of the body is needed to make it whole/all parts are interdependent/one part cannot be without the other.
      7. The different church members are given different spiritual gifts by the Holy Spirit to carry our God’s work.
      8. There should be no divisions in the church since all believers are members of the body of Christ.
      9. Believers are united through baptism in the Holy Spirit.
    2. Outline St. Paul’s teaching on how the gifts of the Holy Spirit should be used in the church. (5 marks)
      1. The gifts of the Holy Spirit should be used for the common good for all.
      2. They should be used to strengthen/encourage/comfort members.
      3. They should be used to bring unity/not to discriminate/divide members.
      4. There is need to respect/appreciate all the gifts.
      5. They should be used in an orderly way/no confusion
      6. The gifts should be used in love.
      7. The gift of speaking in tongues should be minimized during public warship.
      8. There is need to have interpretation of tongues for when to be meaningful/helpful.

      1. In both marriage is seen as a social affair as many people are invited to attend the marriage feasts.
      2. In both marriage is aimed at providing mutual love
      3. Both believe that marriage is sacred and that it is the divine will of God.
      4. In both marriage enables man and woman to have new responsibilities.
      5. Marriage promotes the social status the new couple in both tradition and Christian societies.
      6. In both marriage brings about new ties of relationships.  In both the young couple gets new friends and relatives e.g. brothers, sisters-in-law.
    2. Give seven problems associated with childlessness in marriage today                        (7 marks)
      1. In extreme cases it may lead to divorce.
      2. Also extreme cases may lead to suicide especially the woman if the husband adversely accuses her of barrenness.
      3. Childless couple always feel incomplete
      4. A man in childless family may engage in heavy drinking to cover frustrations.
      5. Childless couples may result to unfaithfulness to prove their fertility
      6. Childless couple may easily be tempted to steal children.
      7. It is easy for childless couples to hate children or those who have children.
      8. Many childless couples have constant war amongst themselves because they keep blaming each other.
    3. Mention six ways through which Christians can resolve misunderstanding between parents and their children        (6 marks)   
      1. By Christians being role models to be followed
      2. Through prayers christens can bring proper understanding
      3. Christians can provide guidance and counselling to both children and their parents
      4. Christians can solve misunderstandings by being frank in their judgement
      5. By committing children to Gods will.
