    1. Identify seven similarities between the annunciation of the birth of Jesus and of John (7MKS)
      • In both births angel Gabriel announced them
      • In both the child born was a first born
      • In both the child’s name was given by the angel
      • In both cases the recipients were filled with fear when the angel appeared to them
      • Both were messages about the birth of baby boys
      • In both cases the message was doubted
      • In both cases a sign was given to ascertain the message
      • In both the child would be born through divine intervention
    2. Outline the message of prophet Isaiah about the Messiah which Jesus read in the synagogue in Nazareth (Isaiah 61:1-3)
      • He was commissioned to preach the good news to the poor

      • A large crowd pressed against him
      • In the crowd was a woman who had a flow of blood for 12 years
      • She approached Jesus from the back and touched the hem of his garment
      • The flow of blood stopped immediately
      • Jesus felt power had left him and asked who had touched him
      • Peter explained to Jesus that the crowd was pressing against him
      • Realizing that she could not hide any more the woman came forward trembling and fell at Jesus feet
      • She explained why she had touched Jesus and how she had been healed immediately
      • Jesus told her that her faith had healed her
      • He told the woman to go in peace

      • A man was attacked by robbers on his way from Jerusalem to Jericho
      • The man was seriously injured and left to die
      • A priest passed by and ignored the injured man
      • A levite passed by and paid no attention as well
      • A Samaritan passed by and had pity on him
      • He nursed his wounds took him to the inn and paid for all his expenses
      • He instructed the inn-keeper to take care of him
      • He promised to come back and pay for whatever more they would spend
      • Jesus asked the lawyer to tell among the three who had proved to be a neighbor to the injured man
      • The lawyer answered that it was the Samaritan
      • Jesus told the lawyer to go and do the same as the Samaritan

      • Greed for money
      • It was God’s will for the fulfillment of the scriptures
      • Judas was tempted by satan and was unable to overcome it
      • He was looking for fame
      • He was unhappy with Jesus activities

      • He was expecting a political messiah yet Jesus was a spiritual messiah
