Art and Design Paper 2 Questions and Answers - Mincks Group of Schools Mock Examinations 2022

INSTRUCTIONS

This paper contains TWO alternatives; A and B. Each alternative has two options.
Choose only ONE option from and ONE alternative.
The question paper will be given to you one hour before the start of the examination to enable you to make your choice from the alternatives. During this one hour, you are allowed to make sketches on the A4 papers provided to help you decide on your choice.
The use of rulers and other mechanical means is forbidden in alternative A but is allowed in alternative B.
Clearly write your name, index number, the alternative and the number of option chosen in that order on the right-hand corner of the unpainted 4cm wide margin running across the bottom of the paper. At the end of the examination, pass the work to the supervisor without folding or rolling it.

QUESTIONS

Answer only ONE question chosen from EITHER alternative A or B.

ALTERNATIVE A: DRAWING OR PAINTING

You are instructed that the use of rulers and mechanical devices is forbidden in this alternative.

DRAWING:

An old man is preoccupied examining his goat for ticks around the neck area. His curious young grandson is close by, leaning forward watching keenly.
PAINTING:
Two persons loading luggage onto a motor cycle. One has lifted the luggage and is trying to balance it on the carrier behind the rider’s seat. The rider, dressed in full riding gear is seen trying to hold his motorbike in position.

From either option above, create a composition based on the above descriptions in biro, pencil, or water colour.

ALTERNATIVE B: GRAPHICS

You are instructed that the use of rulers and mechanical devices as well as tracing paper is allowed. The colour of the working surface (paper) will not be considered as one of the colours required in any question.

A newly formed local organization, HiFadhi, aims to mount an intense campaign for the conservation of the environment.

The organization requires a logotype that depicts their activities as well as a two-fold brochure for an upcoming sensitization drive targeting buyers and sellers towards the eradication of the use of plastic bag carriers.
1. In three colours, design the logotype within an area measuring 8cm x 8cm
2. Design a two-fold brochure measuring 30cm x 20cm. The design should be in three colours

A new enterprise “TundaMurua”needs a package for their fresh fruit juice “BestBerries”.In three colours, create a design for the package which measures 20cm high,10cm wide and 6 cm deep.
