MARKING SCHEME

  1.
    1. Reading  = 6.9 + (0.01×4)
                      = 6.94 cm
      Diameter = 6.94-0.22
                      = 6.72 cm
    2.
      • it can measure internal dimension
      • it can measure depth of blind holes
  2. Pressure exerted at one point of a liquid is transmitted equally to all other parts of enclosed liquid.
  3.

    2.
      • X- south
      • Y - North
  4.
    1. Electrical method

  5.
    1. 70AH rating of the battery is a measure of its energy storage capacity, indicating how much charge it can deliver over a certain period of time  meaning that it can deliver a current of 1 Ampere for 70 hours, or a current of 2 Amperes for 35 hours, or any other combination that results in a total charge transfer of 70 Ah.
    2. Quantity of charge = I × t

      Quantity of charge = 2 A × 1 hour
      Quantity of charge = 2 Ah
      So the quantity of charge in the circuit is 2 Ah.

  6. The clockwise moment about the center of gravity due to the 1 N weight is: (1 N) × (0.2 m) = 0.2 Nm

    The counterclockwise moment due to the 2 N weight is: (2 N) × (0.65 m) = 1.3 Nm
    And the counterclockwise moment due to the 3 N weight is: (3 N) × (0.85 m) = 2.55 Nm
    So, the net moment about the center of gravity is:
    0.2 Nm − 1.3 Nm − 2.55 Nm = −3.65 Nm
    And therefore, the force Y is equal to:
    F = −net moment / distance from A = −3.65 Nm   = −7.3 N
                                                                  0.5m
    So, the force Y is −7.3 N.
