  • This paper consists of two sections A and B
  •  Answer ALL questions in section A and any FOUR questions in section B.
  • Question 14 should be answered on A3 paper provided
  •  All dimensions are in millimeters unless otherwise stated
  • Candidates should not spend more than 15 minutes on question 14.

    2. By use of sketches illustrate three types of intakes of gas turbine engine. (4 ½ marks)
    3. Explain the operation of turbofan gas turbine engine using pressure volume diagram.(5 ½ marks)
    4. Differentiate the construction of a centrifugal flow and axial flow compression by use of sketches. (2 marks)

    1. Differentiate between controllability and maneuverability as applied in aircraft stability. (2 marks)
    2. List three components of instruments landing system. (3 marks)
    3. With the aid of a well labeled diagram explain the valve timing chart. (6 mark)
    4. List three modes of induction in aero piston engine. (3 marks)
