      • mount under a microscope;
      • count the number of stomata in the field of view;
      • determine the area of the field of view;
      • calculate the area of the leaf surface;
      • number of stomata = area of leaf surface / area of field of view multiplied by number of stomata in the field of view (Maximum = 4 marks)
