    1. Outline the events that took place during the dedication of Jesus in the temple as recorded in Luke 2:22-40.(7 marks)
      1. Jesus was taken to Jerusalem to be presented to the Lord by his parents
      2. Simeon took Jesus up his arms/blessed the Lord.
      3. Simeon said that he was ready to die since he had seen God’s salvation/alight for revelation to the Gentiles/the glory to the Israelites.
      4. Simeon blessed the parents of Jesus.
      5. Simeon told Mary/ Jesus mother that the child was set for the fall / rising of many in Israel.
      6. Anna gave thanks/prayed /spoke of Jesus to all who were looking for the redemption of Jerusalem
      7. The parents of Jesus performed everything according to the law of the Lord/offered a pair of turtledoves/pigeons.

      1. Jesus and the disciples arrived at the land of Gerasene
      2. They met a man who was demon possessed/lived among the tombs
      3. The man fell down /told Jesus not to torment him
      4. This is because Jesus had  commanded the unclean spirit out of the man
      5. Jesus asked the man his name
      6. The man replied his name was Legion
      7. The demons begged Jesus  not to let them go into abyss but into the swine that were nearby
      8. Jesus commanded the demons to go into the swine
      9. The swine rushed/drowned in a nearby lake
      10. The herdsmen then fled/went to tell people in the city concerning what has happened
      11. The people came and found the man sitting at the feet of Jesus/healed/dressed in his right mind
      12. The people got afraid of Jesus and asked him to leave the territory
      13. The healed man asked Jesus whether he could accompany him
      14. Jesus told him to go and tell others what God had done for him
      15. The man went through the town proclaiming the good news about Jesus         8-x1=8mrks

      1. To demonstrate God’s love for human beings
      2. To take away their pain/suffering
      3. To glorify God /show God’s power

      5. Forgiving the one who has wronged the other/asking for forgiveness.
      6. Willingness by the offenders to accept the mistakes made /accepting liability.
      7. Withdrawing some privileges for a period of time so that one can reform.

      1. Simon the Cyrene carried the cross behind Jesus
      2. A large number of people followed Jesus including women who wailed
      3. Two other men both criminals were led to be crucified
      4. They crucified him at the place of skull/Golgotha others on his left
      5. Jesus said ‘’Father forgive them for they do not know what they are doing”.
      6. People stood watching
      7. The soldiers divided out his clothes by casting lots
      8. The rulers mocked him by saying he saved others, let him save himself if he is the son of God.
      9. The soldiers mocked him/offered him wine
      10. There was written notice above “this is the King of Jews”.
      11. One of the criminal hurled insults at him/Are you not the Christ? Save yourself and us
      12. The other one rebuked the other criminal
      13. The criminal who had repented asked Jesus to remember him in paradise.      [8 x1marks]

      1. He believed in the Kingdom of God
      2. He disagreed with Sanhedrin about the crucifixion of Jesus
      3. He went to Pilate and asked for Jesus body.

      5. He wrapped Jesus body with expensive linen
      6. He buried Jesus on a personal tomb.
      7. He buried Jesus the very day /Friday in order for him to attend/obey the Sabbath.

      1. There is no marriage after resurrection.

      6. The bodies of those who resurrect will be transformed into spiritual body.

      1. St Paul describes the believers as the body of Christ
      2. Christ is the head of the church
      3. The believers form parts of the body
      4. They all need to work together for the wellbeing of the church
      5. The body has different organs just like  the church has different members
      6. Every part of the body is needed to make it whole/all parts are interdependence/one cannot be without the other.
      7. The different church members are given different spiritual gifts by the Holy Spirit to carry God’s work.
      8. All members of the body of Christ are equal because they serve the same God
      9. There should be no division in the church since all believers are members of the body of Christ.

      1. Some Christians pretend that they have a certain gift of the Holy Spirit
      2. By asking for payment before healing the sick;
      3. Christians misuse the gift of prophecy by giving wrong information;
      4. Some Christians may impart demonic powers on the innocent/ignorant as they claim to perform miracles;
      5. Some Christians who possess the gifts of the Holy Spirit develop pride/arrogance;
      6. Some use the gift to bring division in the church/creating splinter groups;
      7. Some Christians refuse to utilize the gifts they possess/personalize the gifts;

      4. By establishing flowerbeds/ tree nurseries for people to get seedlings.

      7. Condemning the destruction /exploitation of the environment by greedy /powerful people.
