SECTION B (COMPULSORY) 20 MARKS
- Your aunt is down with tuberculosis and you have been requested to take care of the house.
Outline how you would:- Wash her fast-colored cotton nightdress with a gaping seam. (7mks)
- Assemble all the equipment and materials needed ( ½ )
- Put on protective clothing / gear e.g gloves ( ½ )
- Soak for a short time ( ½ ) in cold water added a disinfectant ( ½ )
- Wring off soaking water
- Wash in warm ( ½ ) soapy ( ½ ) water, using mild friction / light rubbing ( ½ )
- Wash systematically till done
- Rinse thoroughly in warm ( ½ ) water to remove dirt and soap
- Final rinse in clean cold ( ½ ) water added vinegar ( ½ ) to brighten the colour
- Wring out water ( ½ ) turn inside out
- Dry in the shade ( ½ ) hold with pegs ( ½ )
- When dry, mend the gaping seam ( ½ )
- Clean, dry and store equipment used.
- Assemble all the equipment and materials needed ( ½ )
- Thoroughly clean the cemented pavement in the compound. ( 7mks)

- Wet a section of pavement with warm ( ½ ) soapy ( ½ ) water scrub ( ½ ) thoroughly with a scrubbing brush
- Rinse the section with floor cloth ( ½ ) wrung from ( ½ ) clean ( ½ ) warm ( ½ ) water severally.\
- Move to the next section ( ½ ) clean and rinse as above
- Overlap ( ½ ) the sections to avoid dirty border marks
- Dry ( ½ ) the pavement with a dry mop / floor cloth ( ½ )
- Clean, dry and store the equipment used ( ½ )
- Thoroughly clean the aluminium sufuria used for cooking ugali. (6mks)
- Collect all equipment and materials needed ( ½ )
- Soak ( ½ ) to loosen the ugali
- Scrap off ( ½ )with a plastic / wooden spoon ( ½ )
- Wash using hot ( ½ ) soapy ( ½ ) water using sisal fibre/ steel wool ( ½ ) clean along one direction to prevent scratches ( ½ )
- Rinse thoroughly in hot ( ½ ) water
- Dry upside down on a rack / wipe with a clean dry cloth ( ½ )
- Store upside down / cover with a lid ( ½ )
- Clean and dry the used equipment and store well ( ½ )

SECTION C (40 MARKS)
