INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATES

- All questions carry equal marks
- Passwords should not be used while saving in the CD/Removable storage medium.
- All answers must be saved in your CD/Removable storage medium used.
- Make a printout of the answers on the answer sheet.

QUESTIONS
Question 1
- Jamii retail shop deals with sales of office furniture, stationery, and computer accessories. The items shown in the table below were bought in the year 2004 and are due for disposal. Study the table and answer the questions that follow.
- Create a workbook to store the information above and save it as JAMII_INVENTORY (12 mks)
- Apply borders to cells in the worksheet as follows: (2mks)
- Double line for outline border
- Dotted line for vertical & horizontal inside border
- Rename sheet one as Inventory (1 mk)
- Copy the Inventory worksheet and paste it in sheet 2. Rename Inventory worksheet as Jamii (2 mks)
- Using appropriate cell references calculate:
- The initial amount for all items in the year 2004 (2 mks)
- Total expenditure in the year 2004 (2 mks)
- The items in the shop are expected to depreciate at rate of 10% annually:
- Calculate the total amount expected from the sale of items in every year (2 mks)
- Use absolute cell reference to calculate the depreciated value of each item from year 2005 to 2007 (6 mks)
- Sort the worksheet in ascending order according to description (2 mks)
- Copy the Jamii worksheet and paste it in sheet 3. Rename Inventory worksheet as Final. Use it to answer question g below. (2 mks)
- An interested buyer bids to buy all the equipment but pegs his / her depreciation rate at 12%. Calculate the loss Jamii Retail Shop makes if the deal is sealed in the year 2007 (6 mks)
- Plot a line graph on a new sheet that depicts the difference in the depreciation trend in amount expected of 2007 and 2007 “at 12%” against item description (9 mks)
- Insert the chart title :Sales Depreciation”
- Insert the X –axis label “Item Description”
- Insert the Y- axis label “Amount” iv. Insert data labels for the amount series
- Rename the worksheet as Retail.
- Print FINAL and Retail (2 mks)

- Using database application package, create a database file named; RECORDS (1 mk)
- Create three tables named Carpenter Table, Customer Table and Order Table that will be used to store the above data. (10mks)
- Set the primary key for the tables (3mks)
- Create relationship among the tables (6mks)

- Create a data entry form for each table and name them as Carpenter Form, Customer Form and Order Form respectively. (3mks)
- Enter the data in Carpenter Table, Customer Table and Order Table respectively in the forms created above. (11mks)
- Create a query named Loyalty with the following fields: Carpenter ID, Customer ID, Customer Name, Quantity, item ordered and amount. It should also calculate the total amount paid for each item. (6mks)

- Create a report to display Carpenter ID, Customer ID, Customer Name, Quantity, item ordered and total amount for each item. It should display the total amount received by each carpenter (5mks)
- Save the report as Amount paid (1 mk)
- Print the three tables and the report (4mks)
