    1. To get a better understanding of God.
    2. To enable learners use the knowledge and attitude acquired to think critically and make appropriate social, moral and spiritual decisions.
    3. To help one acquire principles of Christian living.
    4. To enable one appreciate his/her own religion and that of others.
    5. To help us develop a sense of self-worth and identify for ourselves and others.
    6. To promote international consciousness.
    7. To help us live new lives in Christ.
    8. To help us form a bridge for further studies and career development.
    9. It enables learners to identify answers to some life’s questions.

  2. Why is the Bible referred to as the word of God? (4mks)
    1. The Bible is the word of God because its human authors were inspired by  the Holy Spirit.
    2. The message written was revealed by God to the authors in various ways such as dreams and visions.
    3. The Bible deals with God’s will to human beings and their responses.
    4. The Bible reveals the character and the nature of God and how man should respond to Him.
    5. God Himself took part in writing the Bible (Ten Commandments)
    6. The Bible contains words spoken by God directly example “Let there be light.
    7. The Bible narrates the actions of God example – Creations story.
    8. The Bible contains the history of salvation of mankind through Jesus Christ which is God’s purpose.
