      2. He is anointed by God
      3. He was sent to preach the good news to the poor
      4. He was sent to proclaim the year of the Lord
      5. He was sent to declare Gods judgment and vengeance
      6. He was sent to heal the broken heart
      7. Sent to bring liberty to the captives.

    2. Outline the message of the Angel Gabriel to Mary during the annunciation of Jesus birth. (Luke 1:28-37)
      1. She was highly favored among women/the Lord is with her
      2. The Angel told her not to be afraid
      3. That she had found favour with God
      4. She will conceive in her womb and bear a son.
      5. That her son shall be named Jesus
      6. That her will be great
      7. He will be called the son of the most high
      8. He will be given the throne of his father David
      9. He will reign over the house of Jacob forever
      10. His kingdom will be everlasting
      11. The Holy Spirit would come upon her

    1. Describe the Raising of the widows son at Nain (Luke 7:11-17)
      1. Jesus went to the city of Nain accompanied by his disciples and a large crowd
      2. At the gate of the city, he met people carrying a dead man
      3. The dead man was the only son of the widow
      4. The widow was accompanied by a large crowd wailing
      5. Jesus felt pity for the widow and told her not to weep
      6. Jesus touched the bier (coffin) in which the body lay
      7. Jesus told the dead man to arise
      8. The dead man sat up and began to speak
      9. Jesus gave the man to his mother
      10. The people were filled with fear
      11. The people glorified the lord
      12. Jesus fame spread in Judea and in the surrounding region.

      1. They were signs of the presence of the kingdom of God in the person of Jesus
      2. Miracles demonstrated God's love to human beings
      3. Miracles took away human suffering and pain
      4. Made people to believe in the healing power of Jesus
      5. They shows that physical healing represents spiritual healing
      6. Jesus used miracles to glorify God
      7. Miracles showed that the work of mercy can go on the Sabbath
      8. Miracles made Jesus be recognized as the son of God
      9. They demonstrated the divinity of Jesus
      10. They showed that Jesus has power over nature
      11. They complimented his teachings.

    1. Describe the incident when Jesus was asked the question of paying tax. (Luke 20:19-26)
      1. The scribes and the chief priests tried to lay hands on Jesus
      2. But they feared the people, for they perceived that he had told the parable of the tenant against them
      3. They watched him and send spies who pretended to be sincere
      4. They wanted to take hold on what he says so that they can deliver him to the authority
      5. They asked Jesus by saying teacher we know that you speak and teach rightly without impartiality
      6. They asked Jesus if it was lawful to pay tax to Caesar or not
      7. Jesus perceived their craftiness
      8. He asked them to show him a coin and tell whose likeness and inscription it had
      9. They said it had Caesar
      10. Jesus told them therefore to render the things that are Caesar and to God things that are God's
      11. They were not able in the presence of the people to catch him by what he said
      12. They marveled at his answer.

    2. Outline the event that took place from the time Jesus was arrested up to the time he was Sentenced to death.
      (Luke 22:63-23:1-24)
      1. Jesus was taken to the house of the high priest.
      2. Peter denied Jesus three times.
      3. Jesus was mocked/beaten/blind folded.
      4. Jesus was taken to the Sanhedrin
      5. They made religious accusations against him/claims to be Christ the messiah son of God, Jesus said that if he tells them, they will not believe.
      6. Jesus was taken to Pilate where they made political accusations against him/claims to the king of the Jews, Jesus answered by saying they say so.
      7. He was sent to Herod who questioned and ridiculed him.
      8. Jesus was taken back to Pilate and Pilate said that he had not found Jesus guilty and therefore wanted to release him
      9. They insisted they wanted Jesus crucified
      10. Pilate had Jesus flogged and beaten.
      11. The crowd shouted that Jesus should be crucified and release Barabbas
      12. Pilate surrendered Jesus to be crucified.

    3. Give Six reasons why Christians should pay tax
      1. Because it is a requirement by the state and authority
      2. To obey the laws of the state
      3. To show submission and obedience to the authority
      4. Tax are dues that Christians like any other citizen pay
      5. They pay tax to help the government sustain their operations
      6. The government use paid taxes to provide essential services to the citizens
      7. They government use tax to pay various bills consumed by the citizens viii. They pay tax because it is a legal requirement for all citizens.

    1. Explain Paul's teaching on how the gifts of the holy spirit should be used.
      1. The gifts of the Holy Spirit should be used for the common good of all.
      2. They should be used to edify, strengthen, encourage and comfort members.
      3. They should be used to bring unity and not to discriminate or divide members.
      4. There is need to respect and appreciate all the gifts.
      5. The gifs of the Holy Spirit should be used tin love.
      6. The gifts of speaking in tongues should be minimized in public worship.
      7. There is need to have interpretation of tongues for them to be meaningful/helpful.
      8. The gifts should be used in an orderly manner and not to bring confusion in the church
      9. Prophecies should be carefully weighed/evaluated
      10. Not more than two should speak in tongues at the same time
      11. Those who speak in tongues should do so one after the other

    2. Describe the unity of believers as expressed in the image of the bride
      Rev 21:1-12, 2nd Corinthians 11:2
      1. Christians are the bride, Jesus is the bride groom
      2. Christians should be faithful to Christ just as the bride is faithful to the bride groom
      3. Christ loves the church just like the bridegroom loves the bride
      4. Christians should remain pure, holy and faithful in Jesus Christ just like the bride keeps her purity for the bridegroom
      5. Committed Christians will be taken to a new home- heaven, just like the bride is taken to a new home by the bridegroom
      6. The union between Christ and the church is everlasting, just like the union between the bride and the bridegroom
      7. Christians must remain in a state of expectancy as the bride expects the arrival of the groom

    3. Explain how the gifts of the Holy Spirit are misused today
      1. People demand favors and payment for performing miracles
      2. People claim to be under the influence of the Holy Spirit when they are not
      3. There is too much emphasis on speaking in tongues at the expense of other gifts
      4. Those who have the gifts of the Holy Spirit are proud, boastful and look down upon others
      5. People misinterpret the Bible hence confusing others while claiming to be under the influence of the Holy Spirit.
      6. Individuals cause division in the church claiming that the Holy Spirit has inspired them to start new churches or ministries
      7. Sometimes gifts of the Holy Spirit are expressed in a disorderly manner in the church
      8. People use the gifts for self-glorification
      9. People speak in tongues without an interpreter, hence creating misunderstanding
      10. People use the gifts to instill fear and intimidate others

      1. Each man should have his own wife likewise woman
      2. It is good for one to remain unmarried
      3. Those who cannot control themselves should marry
      4. Marriage is not a sin
      5. Marriage is between a man and a woman
      6. Marriage couples should be faithful to each other
      7. Couples should give each other the conjugal rights
      8. Marriage is permanent
      9. Those who divorce should not remarry
      10. Christians should not marry non-believers.

      1. In both, work is mainly for the purpose of acquiring basic needs.

      6. In both, hard work is emphasized while laziness is condemned.
      7. In both, talents and abilities are developed through work.
      8. In both, work promotes socialization.

      2. Wealth is measured in terms of land/livestock/wives/children.
      3. Wealth raises the status of an individual
      4. Wealth is to be inherited by members of the family.
      5. Wealth is owned by men.
      6. Wealth is acquired through hard work/laziness is condemned.
      7. The wealth should share/help those who do not have.
      8. There are guide lines on how to acquire wealth/through fair means.

    2. Explain seven causes of bribery and corruption in Kenya today
      1. Unemployment- a person seeking employment may give a bribe to be offered a job.
      2. Poverty- a person may give/ receive bribes to obtain favour.
      3. Greed for wealth- the desire to get rich quickly may make some people to ask for bribes in order to discharge their duties.
      4. Greed for power- some people give bribes to get promotions/ leadership positions.
      5. Lack of morals- poor upbringing /lack of a firm foundation in moral values makes some people to easily accept/ give a bribe.
      6. Ignorance- some people may not know their right to be given certain services hence give bribes unknowingly.
      7. Fear- people who have committed crime may bribe the authority to escape punishment.
      8. To overcome shame- a person may give a bribe to guard his/her reputation.
      9. Justice system- the process of getting justice is slow/long hence people give bribes for a short cut/ hasten the process.

      1. To avoid running into debts by over spending of the family resources.
      2. To encourage members of the family to work hard to meet their budget.
      3. To be able to allocate funds according to their priorities.
      4. To assist members of the family to be realistic in their needs/ eliminate selfishness.
      5. To avert/prevent suspicion/misunderstanding/quarrels in the family.
      6. To help members of the family to plan for the future/ make savings.
      7. To promote transparency/ honesty/accountability among members of the family.
      8. To assist members of the family appreciate each other's needs/problems.
      9. To encourage wise spending avoid impulse spending.
