  • Answer all questions in this paper.
  1. FUNCTIONAL WRITING (20MKS)
    You are the secretary of a youth group selected to come up with possible solutions to the rampant drug abuse in your constituency. This is the second meeting and the vice chairperson alongside two other members do not attend but have notified the chairperson. Eight members turn up. Two others do not show up and no one knows their whereabouts. The constituency coordinator of youth affairs and an officer from NACADA are also present. During the meeting,the previous minutes are confirmed, two issues arise, three other issues are discussed as business of the day and two members raise three other concerns before the meeting winds up. Write the minutes of the meeting.
  2. CLOZE TEST (10 MKS)
    Kenyan roads hold two things in equal----------------------: great promise and great disappointment. They begin with a promise, in this case, the construction. Everyone is excited ---------------- the possibilities that the road presents. If it happens to be a new road, commuters will talk about nothing else except ------------------------ ---- pleasantly things will change for them. Soon, the construction is completed, and people are so excited, some are even tempted to lie on the tarmac!
