INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATES:

• This paper contains two alternatives A and B. Each alternative has two options.
• Choose only one equation from the alternatives.
• This paper will be given to you ONE HOUR before the start of the examination to enable you make your choice from the alternatives.
• During this one hour you are to make sketches on A4 size papers provided to make a choice.
• The use of ruler another mechanical means is forbidden in alternative A but allowed in alternative B
• Use of rulers and any mechanical mean sis forbidden in Alternative A.

ALTERNATIVE A: DRAWING OR PAINTING:

EITHER

1. DRAWING

Draw a composition from imagination of a still life consisting of a pineapple, a water melon slice, a mango, an orange, a loaf of bread, two slices of bread on a plate and a glass half filled with juice in an area of 35cm x 42cm

     OR

2. PAINTING

Paint a scene from imagination depicting the theme “anguish” in an area of 35cm x 42cm

ALTERNATIVE B: GRAPHICS

You are instructed that the use of rulers and other mechanical devices as well as tracing paper is allowed. The colour of the working surface (paper) will not be considered as one of the colours required in any question.

3. In four colours create a book cover design with the following features
